DominaSmartass -> Sewing a Singletail carrying case (12/11/2007 6:35:35 PM)

Hi everyone,

Not actually looking to sell this - or looking for someone who sells it - but this seemed to be the best way to get help. I am trying to sew myself a case for a singletail whip and since I'm nowhere near an expert seam-person I need help! I have the fabric I want to use and a zipper but I'm not quite sure how to cut the pieces to make this thing work. What I'm envisioning is a round and flat (think pancake shaped) carrying case about 8 inches in diameter. It would zip open about half way, large enough to slide in a coiled snake whip and then zip up for safe travel. Anyone with more sewing experience than me (pretty much any experience) have any suggestions on what types of pieces I need to cut the fabric in besides 2 large circles?

Thanks SO much for any help.

The item you describe sounds exactly like a jumper cable bag. Available at walmart or any auto parts store. It would be cheap to buy one and then look at it for your design. Any material or even leather will work.
Hope that helps.
