Greetings everyone.

I'd like to get some definitions from you, if you'd indulge me: How would you define "pet", "submissive" and "slave"? I have my own thoughts on what those roles are, but I'd like to know what the general consensus is on their meaning.

If this has been answered elsewhere in the forums, would someone please be kind enough to point me in the right direction?

submissive/slave is what resinates inside of an individual.

pet is an affectionate name given as a term of endearment.

this slave would define them as follows:

pet: could be a term of endearment or referring to someone who is objectified as an animal(e.g. puppy-play)

submissive: someone who is either inclined to or desires to be willing to submit to the control of certain aspects of themselves and/or their lives by another.

slave: someone who has consented to and transferred the full authority or control of their self and life to another.

this slave knows of no "general concensus" on the meaning of the aforementioned terms.

I think the definitions vary from group to group but here is my definition:

pet... a term of endearment, usually.

submissive.. A person who has submissive tendencies. Someone willing to submit, either temporarily or permanently certain or all aspects of their lives to another.

slave.. a person who is owned property. (common dictionary definition, or one of them: One bound in servitude as the property of a person or household)

just my personal defintions..and some may be a little long..so bear with me. (Note when i say "Generally" it mean this is how i define it and i know that all D/s M/s is particular to the relationship...but do i honestly need this disclaimer?)

pet someone who enjoys a pet role or being owned as a pet (dog, cat, pig, horse). Usually not a 24/7 thing..but then again..i don't know many pets...

submissive a person who has entered into a relationship giving up part or most of their personal power. Generally not seen as property. Still has limits, safewords, and has the choice of walking out at any time for any reason.

slave a person who has entered into a relationship giving up all power to thie Owner. Seen as property. Generally gives up all limits, rights, safewords and cannot leave the relationship except for extreem circumstances (abuse, abuse of children, life is in danger, malicious intent, and so on)
