There are plenty of threads about using common household objects as fetish toys (to which the universal reply seems to be "Home Depot"), but... any stories about using fetish toys in everyday situations? Using a paddle to hold up the leg of an uneven table, using Thor as a baseball bat (hell, that thing's a siege weapon!) or summat?

The other night, Elle asked me to pull out some of the bamboo sticks we use during or wax play and she used them as skewers for some shrimp she was grilling.

But they were bamboo skewers to begin with, so I am not sure that counts.

Some nipple clamps with chains, look a little like jumper cables.

It amazes me the vanilla uses some people get from what are clearly kinky toys. I was shocked, shocked I tell you, to discover people actually use a saws-all for cutting things!

Old floggers (that I made myself and were falling apart) made good cat toys. Apparently, rattan canes are good chew toys for the kitties as well. I am not particularly happy about that one. Oh, they liked the “erotic feather” thing too. Luckily, I’d seen them, for a much cheaper price, at the pet store when I replaced it. They stole that one, too, so no more erotic feathers in the toys until I get a tube I can put long things in!

I’ve used my duct tape for real purposes. I’ve used my fire play alcohol for real uses. I’ve stolen my scissors from the rope and shaving bags more times than I can count. I used my rope for various things, such as putting my hammock up. I have also used my wartenburg wheel on patterns for quilting/sewing. It’s used to mark stuff.

We've used dildos as dog toys, though not on purpose.

I wouldn't recommend jumping the car battery with them, though. *wink*

Probably better than jumper cables on your nipples though.

Master sometimes trims the hedges with his singletail....practice and yardwork at the same time!

We've used our fire cupping set for it's original gasp medical purpose.

In our current remodel project, we've pulled out the toybag a few times. We've hunted down the fluffy dusters (formerly cooldown toys), for dusting and sanding,
the duct tape (self-explanatory),
several types of clips to hang blankets on doorways,
a few cane blanks to use in the plants when they were moved,
and most importantly, the blindfold and ear muffs (sensory deprivation) to get some sleep in the other room while contractors were working.

Being familiar with an items uses provides many more opportunities to use them. Most of what I have is cleanable, so it can happily take on any challenge. The duster, though, will be replaced, as well as the canes.

I've asked some freinds. So far, some of the answers I've gotten:

Using bondage rope to tie up tomato plants. Using a paddle as a straight edge. Using the hooks on a St. Andrews cross as a place to dry delicates.

I used a hairbrush as a hairbrush once. Nipple sticks as chopsticks. Bunny-fur mitts used for arthritic hand relief.
