Status: offline 		      I ran across an interesting little opinion piece today, suggesting that the up-tick in the President's poll numbers might be a result of all the late night comics being 'dark' as a result of the strike.  Without the nightly barrage of jokes to repeat around the water cooler in the morning, whatever might happen to our political process?

Status: offline 		     But the impact is felt on every television set in the country at 11:30 p.m.  What is happening to all those people who get their news from Stewart, Colbert, and Leno? 

    One of the principal requirements of propaganda is that it not stop and start, it must be constant.  Dear Lord, we can't have people being forced to think for themselves before an election, now can we?

I suppose there is the slim chance they might be "dummying down" by watching FOX. It is rather interesting if you think about it.

Is FOX a legitimate source of news? Have they been so removed from portraying "A Fair and Balanced" broadcast that they must now list themselves as "entertainers" similar to All-Star Wrestling.

Status: offline 		      Y'know, DG, I'm not sure how it works with the news shows.  Somebody is still putting words on the teleprompters for the talking heads to spout. 

    Fox did have a 'spoof' sort of show briefly, but they neglected to hire me as an overpaid creative consultant, and it bombed quite miserably.

I don't know PA.  It's been pretty big news over here in the UK and mentioned regularly.

Status: offline 		When I hear thatr Leno, O'Brien, Colbert, etc can't have a show without the writers it makes me wonder why they were hired in the first place.  They are comedians for Christ's sake.  They can't write their own material?  Who wrote the material for them when they did stand-up?

Status: offline 		       Comedy is hard, Slaveboy, and it often involves bouncing ideas off other people, playing with wording around the room, things that take time.  Besides, the talent needs somebody to blame when a joke bombs.
