Does it bother you to receive an email from a Dominant for the first time and in the email all it states in explicit details is what He wants to do to you?  Whatever happend to manners and first impressions :(

ghitaPVH -> RE: First Email (12/15/2007 8:03:46 AM)

Theres a block button. Use it. No point in wasting your energy getting bothered. At least thats my point of view.

sexyred1 -> RE: First Email (12/15/2007 8:06:18 AM)

Well, it depends. Your profile has a hot, half naked photo in it. You say you are married and seeking a Dom. No offense, but men are men and many just think with the smaller head.

Some Doms may take all that to mean you want to be approached sexually.

And, this is the internet, it is a kink site, you cannot control the behavior of those who email you, you are free to ignore them.

Expecting courtesy and manners from anyone online is a lost cause.

DesFIP -> RE: First Email (12/15/2007 8:09:29 AM)

Be glad they've shown their true colors without wasting more than a few seconds of your time. Delete and block.

You might also want to search out profiles of doms that attract you and open the conversations.

DiurnalVampire -> RE: First Email (12/15/2007 8:12:32 AM)

It doesnt bother me to be approached by a Dom or sub with a long list of nasty, sexual things they wish to do or have done. It make sit that much easier to knock them off the list and not waste time talking to them to find out later that thats all they are looking for anyway. Think of it as saving you a step.
When you get a message like that, if you bother responding, just say thank you for your interest, its flattering, but you are obviously looking for something that doesnt interest me and I wont waste your time in your pursuit of easier tail. Or something like that. If they write back and are equally as inapropriate, you can always block them.  Some people forget that a first impression can still count.
Online, nothing truly bothers me. I dont know these people yet, and if what they have to say doesnt interest me I dont have to get to know them. Anyone who doesnt make an effort to make themselves appealing in their initial emails is just one less person I have to worry about. Just like real life, you dont necessarily like everyone that aproaches you. Take the ones you do, leave the ones you dont.

No. I find it highly amusing. In fact, I usually respond with my own thoughts of what I will be doing to him. It scares them off pretty fast.

it does bother me. so i changed my profile and now i get
no mail at all... from anyone

domiguy -> RE: First Email (12/15/2007 8:57:25 AM)

sexryred1 rather nailed it....Even if you come out here and portray yourself as Mother Theresa there are still going to be those who send out sexually explicit mail. Many, like myself, just do mass mailings without reading any profiles and hope for the standard 1 1/2 % response rate.

If I read your profile and thought that a meeting should be added to the agenda, I would never take you seriously. All you really have to offer is your holes.

Live with it.

RumpusParable -> RE: First Email (12/15/2007 8:58:06 AM)

I'm with those who have expressed that it doesn't bother or upset them, rather it's a bit amusing and is actually helpful in ruling out a mismatch early on!  That and with some I do like to amuse myself over a couple emails once in a while; it can be fun to mess with their heads a little when you're taking a short break from work on the computer.

When you have

in your profile, don't expect to get messages, even from potential friends.

To be blunt, change the wording, or stop complaining.

Sexynmentalinkc -> RE: First Email (12/15/2007 9:03:32 AM)

While I loathe such musings on a first email, I have (early on) sent some erotic fiction writings to a s/s. Usually, it's based on some of their stated leanings and interests. It's not a "I will do this to you", etc. but something that I think helps them to see how my mind works.

Whenever I do send something like that - usually the 2nd or 3rd email - I do my honest best to have it be hot, erotic and provocative without being crass, disrespectful or overly lewd (though I can do lewd quite well too).

On the VERY first email?  Hell no. Generally, I put in whatever it was I saw or read in their profile that prompted me to write. A compliment, an anecdote or just a musing about something they might have posted about on the forums.

Having seen such comments in the past, I know how important the first email is and that you have to let a s/s know that you're not the same ol' sophomoric trogolodyte HNG they are used to hearing from...

This is kind of funny....Not trying to pick on you, but there are many people who seem to share this common reaction when dealing with these types of people. How do you know that this is not exactly what they are seeking? And by "fucking with them" you are actually feeding the fire and by providing any type of a response that you are actually enforcing this type of behavior.

It says little about anyone who sends out this type of mail....It certainly doesn't say much about those who choose to respond to it.

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: First Email (12/15/2007 9:05:20 AM)

Who/what gave you the idea that you'd find good manners on the internet?

Drop those false expectations and stop allowing random strangers to have power over your own feelings.

lanie38 -> RE: First Email (12/15/2007 9:09:27 AM)

Pffft...I don't let things like that bother me...like others said just block and ignore...but some women like that kind of approach..different strokes for different folks...

Good luck

i've recieved a few, but i just delete and move on to the next message

OrrisKitten -> RE: First Email (12/15/2007 9:11:38 AM)

It doesn't bother me. I tend to laugh and send back a slightly offensive e-mail, mainly entailing how even if I were looking for a Dom I would prefer that he learn how to read before sending me an e-mail assuming he is my 'Master' and that I am even remotely attracted.

I laugh and use it as a virtual punching bag. It is the best when you get an e-mail back and they are all whiney and going on about me not being a 'true sub' and all that jazz. Use it as a form of catharsis.
