The most ironic quote... quote:
In court documents, acting Assistant Attorney General Jeffrey S. Bucholtz was concerned that Kennedy might order CIA officials to testify about the tapes. Bucholtz said that "could potentially complicate the ongoing efforts to arrive at a full factual understanding of the matter." Explain to me how MAKING SWORN OFFICERS OF THE UNITED STATES, UNDER OATH, IN A FEDERAL COURTROOM possibly, in any way "complicate the ongoing efforts to arrive at a full factual understanding"? Now, I'm just simple folk, from small-town America... But it seems to me that if WANT the truth out of someone, you do *exactly* that. You stick someone on the stand in a federal courtroom, swear them in, and ask them for the record. Unless you're trying to orchestrate a pack of lies to cover up your crimes. Torture is a Crime. Deprivation of Civil Rights under Color of Law is a Crime.
