First of all Urine contains Uric Acid. You can thank that for the smell that has a tendancy to linger with that. Uric acid or C5H4N4O3 combines with Ammonia or NH3 which is actually what you smell. Uric acid is a mild antioxidant and reducing agent. I won't get into injestion of urine, so I'll leave that to others. Contrary to popular belief more people pee in the shower, yet few will admit it. There is a natural process the body does when exposed to heat, primarily in the lower region that makes the bladder then empty itself. There is nothing wrong with it, as it all goes down the drain, and then to either a water treatment plant, sewers, etc. One shouldn't bath in their urine, as that won't get you very clean. It is fine for you to get it on you, especially if in shower, as you should be washing yourself off with soap anyhow. Babies pee in a diaper, and that in turn touches their skin. You would obviously clean a baby, so one would think you'd clean yourself in the shower also. Its fine for people to not admit it happens, even though the percentage is reality is about 87-90% have done it at least once.
