BoundDragon -> A plea for help - Collars (12/18/2007 4:48:25 AM)

As a lot of you know a couple of months ago I agreed the offer of wearing his collar. The problem we are having is finding one that is classy & smart enough to wear everyday (including at work).

Leather makes it tricky & wont last brilliantly so metal is the way to go. I dont wear yellow or other collared metals so it has to be silver, white gold, stainless steel etc etc.

The other thing is it has to be delivered to the uk.

Does anyone have any suggestions??

Unless you're looking to make a statement with your collar a simple silver chain works nicely. The symbolic nature of wearing his chain caters to the BDSM side of its significance while still appearing as "just jewelry" to anyone else. If you want to make a bolder statement check out the silver chains with working padlocks that Tiffany offers. http://www.tiffany.com/Shopping/Item.aspx?sku=GRP00556&mcat=148204&cid=287465&search_params=s+5-p+34-c+287465-r+101323338-x+-n+6-ri+-ni+0-t+

I have been making Stainless Steel collars for about 10 years and have shipped many to the UK.
Maybe one of mine would be to your liking?

ShibariJon -> RE: A plea for help - Collars (12/18/2007 7:06:04 AM)

One collar in particular that I have seen is the "Talena" from Axmar http://www.axsmar.com/_english/index.htm
it could easily pass for a piece of vanilla jewlery

BoundDragon -> RE: A plea for help - Collars (12/18/2007 8:47:13 AM)

Thank you so much for your replies.

We are deffinately having to look for something that is more like normal jewellery but I was trying to avoid chains as they seem to necklacey to me.... I want a nice solid feeling round my neck.
I am also quite tiny so a lot of standard collars just completely swamp me.

Ive seen this & like it but I would like it to be more "closed" than that with a lockable hinge maybe??? Is it possible.

Fixation -> RE: A plea for help - Collars (12/18/2007 8:58:52 AM)

I am a jeweller in Hatton Garden,London and i'm just starting a company making quality collars in silver mainly but will be offering a bespoke service too.
I will hopefully have my site up and running in the new year so you can see some of the work i do, but am happy to help if you want to talk discuss something sooner.

VadFarkas -> RE: A plea for help - Collars (12/18/2007 9:03:45 AM)

All of mine are closed and hinged. But I have made them from 1-1/2 inch to 15 inch diameter (that's 47 inches circumference) . I just finished a custom order where I used 1/4 inch Stainless instead of my normal 3/8 inch. This was an Allen screw closing.

I also made this one on a whim.
http://www.ringofsteel.net/images/brass-slim.jpg
It has brass inserts but you said you didn't want collored metal, maybe someone else does. I'm not making another one since this was a lot of work and I thought the effect would be more dramati.
Good Luck in your search.

worththeeffort -> RE: A plea for help - Collars (12/18/2007 2:48:13 PM)

Master ordered mine from www.bondagecollars.com i LOVE it. i'm not sure about the shipping to the UK tho, you'd have to email them and find out. i wear mine 24/7, haven't taken it off since He put it on me. My coworkers asked some questions in the beginning, mainly because i was suddenly wearing a very visable piece of jewelry every day. But no one else has commented or even seemed to notice it, outside our local BDSM group of course, where i got repeated OOOOO and AHHHHHHs lol.

Hi VadFarkas!

Thank you for replying. I have looked at your collars a few times now and not been sure. I think they are beautiful & you can see that they are pure quality.
I think though I need something a little bit daintier & femine. I am always interested in your work though & I love looking at new pieces as when you come up with them.

Regards

FD

BoundDragon -> RE: A plea for help - Collars (12/19/2007 12:07:29 AM)

So I have had a little nosey at this sight and I must say I think we have a winner!!! I have fallen in love with a couple on there. I just need to see what he thinks and we may be placing an order.

Ive read the testimonials & the order info & he does ship internationally, he even mentions his cliants in the UK!!!

These are exactly the kind of collar that would suit me.... I love the wire ones, they are so adorable!!!![:D]

***Sat beaming as she thinks of his face when he puts one on her***[:)][:)][:)][:)]

Thank you so much kitty, if you message me your name I will make sure I let them know it was you who recommended them to me (if that is ok with your master)

Regards

FD

I have been wearing mine for about 3 years now and only take it off for medical reasons. I wear it to work and through airports etc. I also add attachments to my collar for special occasions, like a pendant. I get so many compliments on it from vanilla people. Master got it on line. Can't remember the name of the site but it looks much like the "ringof steel" collars already talked about here. If you want to see mine, there is a photo at www.geocities.com/d_sdesire  I also have matching wrist cuffs and ankle cuffs.

VadFarkas -> RE: A plea for help - Collars (12/19/2007 5:43:16 AM)

Thank you FD, my collars and other items are not for everyone and not meant to be. We are all different and that is a good thing.. besides a lot less boring.[;)]Good Luck in your search and I hope you find the perfect collar for you.You will know it when you see it!

Arceye -> RE: A plea for help - Collars (2/1/2008 2:14:47 AM)

I've recently started making stainless steel collars and bracelets www.steelwithattitude.com

RoughFN -> RE: A plea for help - Collars (2/1/2008 10:14:48 AM)

I'll just chime in and say what I always say - a "collar" does not actually have to be a physical collar. It's just some symbolic reference of the bond.

Could be a physical collar, a bracelet, an anklet, a ring (that's what I got my girl), a belt, a necklace, earrings, a tattoo, whatever.

I don't give a rip about anybody telling me what I should or should not put on my girl. She's still collared, it's just not an actual collar. You shouldn't give a rip either. The important thing is that it matters to the two of you, not that it matters to anyone else.

In no way am I knocking actual collars (I personally have a thing for wide black spiked dog collars), just suggesting that there can be other options that are still just as meaningful.

suessub -> RE: A plea for help - Collars (2/1/2008 7:50:17 PM)

May I suggest the work of Carl Dau. He is a German artist. He makes some beautiful necklaces that have a wonderful "chain collar" look to them. On the other hand, to the vanilla world, they just look like some striking metal jewelery. Here are some examples I like:
http://www.dau-berlin.com/en/necklaces/dh-e3.php
http://www.dau-berlin.com/en/necklaces/cn-dh2.php
http://www.dau-berlin.com/en/necklaces/kk1.php

Similar but different is the "Subtle Sense" line of necklaces from Xen. In particular, local rumor has it my Valentine's Day present from my Mistress might be this rubber and steel necklace:
http://www.skeies.com/store/products/detail/xen-subtle-sense-rubber-neck-cable.html
Once we decide it is a good fit, we can just secure the bayonette clasp with some Loctite and short of cutting the material, it is on to stay. In the same line of Xen necklaces are some of multi-strand stainless steel. Also at the site linked above.

(What I am getter her this Valentine's day? A pair of these Carl Dau earrings, http://www.patina-gallery.com/title.php?ititlenum=10004177 Because she is so skillful with her canes.)
