BlackSakura -> Doms wearing collars/choker (12/18/2007 11:04:02 AM)

This is a question merely about aesthetics/fashion.   We all know the significance and meaning of a collar – ownership.  As a dom, wearing a collar would be sending mixed signals and what not.  So… What about doms wearing chokers?  What is the consensus in the BDSM community?  I came across a collar that I thought was incredible and thought, “OMG, I want that!”  I thought it to be something that would be nice to wear.  To me I didn’t see it as a collar but just more of something to beworn around the neck. It’s here: http://www.radiancebound.com/store.php?crn=200&rn=309&action=show_detail
Of course sans the ring.

Your thoughts?

I love collars and chokers on both doms and subs.  I think its all about what it means to you and perhaps who put it on you or if you put it on yourself, etc.  Fashon does not have to follow any pattern as to dom or sub to look great.  Doms decide what to wear and subs do not.  I think the one you picked out looks great and you would look great wearing it.  John

I think chokers are totally sexy, both to look at and to wear. I'm not collared but I still enjoy to wear different colours and materials snug around my neck. Like John665623 said "Doms decide what to wear and subs do not".

Wear whatever you want to wear, no one thinks less of you, and if they do, they are not worthy of your attention anyway. [;)]

John and Lee beat me to it. It's good to be King!
Gawd I miss the '70s when most of the wimmen wore chokers![:D]
Now I better get back to making collars....

Phin -> RE: Doms wearing collars/choker (12/18/2007 1:11:48 PM)

that is hot, ring or no. Dont worry about what other people think. you like it, I assume you can afford it, buy it and wear it. If someone sees it and assumes that you are a sub, they are an idiot... no need to worry what idiots think

Real0ne -> RE: Doms wearing collars/choker (12/18/2007 1:24:10 PM)

PsyVamp -> RE: Doms wearing collars/choker (12/18/2007 6:44:21 PM)

Gawd that site has some beautiful stuff, even I would wear it... probably with the intention of confusing the HELL out of people, but then again, I think chaos rocks.

The whole dress code thing is weird anyway- so wear what's hot and enjoy it. I have a lot of FemDomme porn from the twenties to the fifties and subs had to wear over the knee boots and no Domme worth anything would ever show off her breasts. I know Doms who think their girls are hot in over knee boots, and there's a lot of precedent in the photo's I have for Dommes in chokers. And spurs! I want those!
The neckwear in the picture are hot, and if anything they look like Klingon body armor. Can't get more Domme than that. And I think she who cracks the whip will straiten it all out fast...

Articia -> RE: Doms wearing collars/choker (1/3/2008 8:09:58 PM)

There is some gorgeous stuff on that site.  I can't see Master in a choker, but I did give him a custom pendant that he wears all the time.  I found an artist on Etsy.com who made a sterling silver pendant that says "Master" in Celtic runes and he wears it on a leather cord.  He said that just the feel of it under his clothing reminds him of me throughout the day.

oreogirl -> RE: Doms wearing collars/choker (1/3/2008 8:14:08 PM)

That site has some truly awesome stuff.  If you like it, wear it!  Plain and simple.

MstrssScarlet -> RE: Doms wearing collars/choker (1/3/2008 8:37:26 PM)

I've brought up this same topic AND same site before!  They actually have what they call Domme Collars on there if you look and they're absolutely gorgeous!.  I was tempted before, but the consensus at the time was something along the lines of "men are already trying to get a collar on every woman out there", although there were some who felt the same as most of the people on this post.  I would agree - if you like it, wear it. It shouldn't take long for the people to figure out which side of the fence you're on no matter what you're wearing.
I, personally, was a bit self concious when I first became a domme.  There were a couple of idiots that knew me from when I started out as a submissive who seemed determined to give me a hard way to go.  I always felt like I had to really stand tall when I was around them and it kind of snowballed for a while.  I found out later that they gave other people the same treatment and ironically had started out as subs themselves!  Overcompensation perhaps???

P.S....If I had $185 sitting around, I'd damn sure order one of the crystal ones today.

 Uhoh, now I have another totally cool site to take up hours of my time! What a truly interesting array of items, almost too many but they are all so beautiful and just really interesting.I think I'm addicted to this site after only 10 minutes of looking. Thanks thanks for posting it.

I have a friend who is Domme. We both attended a fetish ball this past fall and she wore a gorgeous choker that sort of webbed out down her chest and back. Several people commented on what a nice collar it was, and she had to correct them that it was not a collar, just a choker. But with so many Owners these days opting to give their slaves decorative collars so that they blend in well in the vanilla world, it can get confusing. But I say, to each his/her own. Just be prepared to either correct a lot of people or settle it within yourself not to be concerned what other people think. Why should slaves have all the fun?

MsBearlee -> RE: Doms wearing collars/choker (1/4/2008 8:43:33 AM)

In my esteem, collars are like rings; there is significance to them if you put significance to them.

Both men and women wear rings, both single and married folks wear rings; same with necklaces anymore…and hell, ear rings, too!

And jeans… used to be only cowboys and farmers wore jeans!

…and so on.

I’d bet though, following the OP’s link, that wearing that collar just a few times would find the leather points curling up.  I could be wrong, but they just seem like they’d feel annoying, too…in spite of how hawt they look!  LOL

Thanks for the links!!!
