i think everyone should feel that they have the most wonderful relationship that has ever existed or, will ever exist.  And, since i'm not in a competition for "Most Wonderful Relationship", it doesn't bother me when someone else makes that claim.  i just say to myself, "That's really nice."  i wish everyone, who was in a personal relationship, could feel that way.  i know that's how i feel

I loved this part of your post because I think it is rather relevent on the boards these days, and I had to remind myself of this in relation to the Castle Realm threads, it does not work for me, but it makes other people happy... so true slave joy! And what makes us happy as individuals is what makes us feel we have the bestest relationship... it is the bestest relationship: for us.[;)]

Edited to add, Barry Manilow is a hard limit[:D]

I loved that part of joy's post, too, and I am so glad she said it!  She put into words what I hadn't really considered.  I only know I've never been bugged by the "my relationship is better" mindset and I honestly have never understood why people are.  Joy just explained it - thanks!

And stop dissin' Barry!  I love Barry!  But then I'm a dork like that.  I also love Zepplin & Skynrd.  Go figure.

Now I'm humming "Oh Mandy....well you came and you gave without taking...."  Ha!  [:D]

Being his property adds an element of objectification to my slavery.  It brings me to a less-than-human mindset, while still knowing I am human.  It makes me powerless to him, and at his whim.  As his property, what I think or feel about something may or may not be considered by him.  There are times he just does not care what I feel about something (usually those are times when he needs to bring me to a particular emotional state for my own good, regardless of what I think of it).  Property creates a chasm between us - between his place as Master and my place as slave.  It leaves me feeling small to him and very vulnerable.  I love it.  It is not for everyone, for sure.

My experience with Daddy-Dom is that of tenderness, sweetness, even some coddling.  That is a path that does not work for me, although I understand its place in the relationships of others.

As for slave versus sub....I'm not going there [8D]

I have to say that OG pretty much summed up the dynamic that I have with my Daddy as well.  He rarely calls me his "property" although he will refer to me as "His."  That just makes me feel completely under his care.  He also uses the same type of control that leaves me feeling powerless to his own desires.  At times, it's just what I need to drop me to a really subbie/slavey place.  I do refer to him as Master at times, usually during intimacy.  It justs feels good.  It lets me know that he is absolutely in charge and it also lets me surrender my actions to his whim, even though they may be exactly what I want, but knowing they are at his direction makes it even more hot.

As for being Daddy's girl, that has always been in play with us.  I have called him Big Daddy since our nilla days with each other.  That's my term of endearment for him and even my co-workers know that I call him that and will let me know that "Big Daddy" is here to take me to lunch.  Our Daddy/baby girl aspect does not include age play of any sort, it just has a protective dimension and a level of caring that a person would have for their little one.

With regard to the sub vs. slave thing, I know how it works for us, which may not be the way it works for others, so I'm just going to leave it alone.  This is one Pandora's box that needs to stay under lock and key, at the bottom of the deep blue sea.  [;)]

to me, property is something that can be bought, sold, traded, given away, thrown away or destroyed and as such, can't own or possess itself or anything else.

Not picking on your particular post, per se, but I often see the bought/sold comments pertaining to property and wanted to throw in this caviat - there are properties that can not be bought, sold or traded.  I've seen land property bequeathed with a caviat that it remain in the family, or remain undeveloped, or donated to a particular cause, to be left and enjoyed as-is.  Such cases deem it illegal for sale, trade or tampering with certain properties.

I'm just illustrating the point that something can be property while not having the legal ability to be sold.  Since humans can not legally be bought and sold, one might automatically decide they can not be property, but the two do not necessarily go hand in hand.    I am my Master's property, even though he can not legally sell me.  Just as Yosemite National Park is still property, although it can not be sold.

Excellent point, ownedgirlie!  So glad that you brought this to light.  i get tired of seeing those same old remarks about how you can't be 'property' because you can't be bought, sold, etc., too.

Also, thank you for the kind remarks about my earlier post.  And, i didn't really mean to pick on Barry Manilow, who's hit song, "Mandy" is still a favorite of mine.  Brings back a lot of good memories, whenever i hear it.  i just couldn't remember the name of the singer who did the song about "If you like Pina Coladas and getting caught in the rain.  If you're not into healthfood, if you have half a brain.  If you like making love at midnight on the dunes at the cape.....blah, blah, blah......" - sorry, to anyone who is a big fan of that song from the 70's).

Anyway, to Barry and the other singer and all their fans, i wish a very happy, healthy and enjoyable life with whoever they choose to spend it with.

Hi Joy :)

It's called "Escape" by Rupert Holmes, otherwise known as "The Pina Colada Song."  Ever hear the lyrics?  A couple is cheating on each other - one writes an ad in the local paper, and the other answers it.  They realize when they meet that they're cheating on each other with each other.  I always liked that song.

And no worries about Barry, lol.

Yes, i remember the song and how it had that funny little twist.  i liked it too, although it kind of became a cliche.  It was a catchy little tune and the words sounded a lot like the way personal ads were written back then.  Ahh, those were the days.......

i couldn't remember who sang it.  Thanks for giving me the name.
