If I bumped into your sister or brother on a liesurely stroll; and he/she was asked to describe the deeper you, the you that every fiber makes you tick, what would be said?

ghitaPVH -> RE: sis/bro rates you how ? (12/19/2007 7:01:28 AM)

well, I dont have any siblings, so Ill use my sister in law as an example.

If I was to run into my sis in law on a liesurely stroll.....there would be a mad rush for weapons and ammo. I would win. She would never be heard from again. They would never find the body. She rates me as a tatally useless slut, I rate her as evil incarnate.

KMsAngel -> RE: sis/bro rates you how ? (12/19/2007 7:05:34 AM)

i have 5 brothers and a few sisters.

1 of my brothers loathes me. for something i did 25 years ago. my other brothers like me. one of my sisters doesn't like me as much as she used to, the other loves me.

none of them would be able to describe me in any depth, i've been too far away for too long.

KatyLied -> RE: sis/bro rates you how ? (12/19/2007 7:11:08 AM)

My brother would say that he likes to call me Mrs. Roethlisberger.

topcat -> RE: sis/bro rates you how ? (12/19/2007 7:32:34 AM)

I have been a bit frightened, from time to time, by how highly my siblings rate me (one of each, both younger with a two year more or less interval).

If I knew I was a hero to them growing up, I would have worked harder at it.

Gardenista -> RE: sis/bro rates you how ? (12/19/2007 7:44:35 AM)

Oh, god. My brother was really fond of setting up his big sister as some kind of hard-ass thug, which is far from the truth. I'm not sure if he did that just to be a brat, or because he saw me as his protector and had this image of me in his head.

but that's the wonderfulness of it.. you don't have to work hard at being a hero to them, you just are. =)

sub4hire -> RE: sis/bro rates you how ? (12/19/2007 8:00:42 AM)

Depends on the sibling.  My brother and sister who are both deceased would have said I was way above average.  Not going to use the exact words they both used here but thats pretty much what they said.

The living brother, no real idea.  He never knew me, never knew any of my accomplishments in life.
Maybe average...I guess.

HotFaerieMama -> RE: sis/bro rates you how ? (12/19/2007 9:44:21 AM)

my brother would probably tell you that i'm weird but i'm a good mom and a great sister but that'd be it... but i personally think that my brother is a piece of shit

trappedinamuseum -> RE: sis/bro rates you how ? (12/19/2007 10:09:46 AM)

They're family...unconditional love.

Do they know me?  No.....but that's ok.  We all have secrets.

Doesn't happen for everyone you know. My brother is dead and would have sung my praises eventhough having been 10 yrs my senior he abused me as a child. Abusive mother would also sing about me then turn around and treat me like shit, depending on the day and her Domineering whims. She is domineering, not a Dominant for she cannot be kind for long periods of time and/or consider the impact upon someone with the words she is using at the time. My Moroccan family is my real family and where *I* get my unconditional love from. I also do not call them in laws as they do not feel like in laws and I am called daughter, sister etc. I am not someone who married into the family, I am family. That is how Moroccans are and they would not be able to stop telling you how above average I am until you shut them up somehow or they had to leave to go to the bathroom! LOL

Nowhere did I write that my statement applied to everyone's family. I was speaking of my own family and experiences, which is what the thread called for.  We have our trials, our tribulations and our fights, but in the end, all we have is each other, and that has gotten us through the worst of times, and the best of times.

I am happy for you though I am allowed my story as well. Perhaps the point of my post was, that I can now see what familial unconditional love is all about. [:)]

lighthearted -> RE: sis/bro rates you how ? (12/19/2007 4:14:28 PM)

if I bumped into my brother on a leisurely stroll it would scare the crap out of me, mainly because he's dead...

(sorry for the sick humor, I couldn't resist [&:])

No worries. I was going to go that way as well and probably should have!

laurell3 -> RE: sis/bro rates you how ? (12/19/2007 6:42:25 PM)

PA if you ever run into my sister, your stroll will turn into a less than leisurely sprint away if you mention you know me. [8D]

If you run into my bro, buy him a beer and I'll pay ya back later.

I would know I was in Heaven if I saw My baby brother "leisurely stroll by Me". He just joined the Heavenly realm 7-1-07, and I miss him more than ever. He looked up to Me, we were very close ( My only real brother- same mother and father, grew up in the same house together until I left @18).The  "I'm glad that's My BIG Sister" moment came the day he watched Me graduate from a top University with a Bachelor's degree cum laude.
I never saw him smile and hug Me so much. It feels like yesterday.
***RIP JBO (7/31/78-7/1/07)***One of the GREAT LOVES of MY LIFE :****(

My brother and i have great respect and admiration for each other.  However if he knew of my lifestyle he might think differently, who knows?

shivvy -> RE: sis/bro rates you how ? (12/20/2007 12:08:03 AM)

i think my bro prolly thinks i'm below average, coz he does know about my lifestyle, and some otherstuff, and he already said how disappointed he woz with me.

he still luvs me, and i'm still his wee sister, but i think he prolly sees me different now to how he used to, when we woz growing up
