While your local church might have good intentions, i have to say that the message they're sending isn't what i would consider to be appropriate. Comparing the crucifixion of Christ to a form of body modification is wrong, in my view. Christ was nailed to the cross. He wasn't getting a nipple pierced. Understandably, they are trying to be clever and catchy but, i think kids are smarter than that. Who thinks, for one minute, that getting a nail hammered through each palm and through the feet, is anything close to getting a nose ring? The church i go to has a very active and large youth program, with more teens and young adults than i have ever seen at any church. They have a wonderful music program and a lot of outdoor activities that keep the kids involved. They can be seen at events, around the area, doing teen outreach. They present the message in a way that speaks to the kids, without having to resort to trivializing how Christ died on the cross. i wish someone would tell that church that they need to come up with a better message to attract the youth. If the church needs some help in coming up with a catchy little phrase to drum-up some attention and interest, here are some suggestions: Three nails plus one cross equals forgiven. ETERNITY: your choice, smoking or non-smoking. Jesus is for life, not just for Christmas. If you can't reach God by E-Mail, Try knee-Mail. No God, no peace. Know God, Know peace. If you were accused of being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you? The best vitamin for a Christian is B1. If You've Been Waiting for a Sign From God to Come to Church, THIS IS IT! Sign broken - message inside. slave joy Owned property of Master David quote:
