Status: offline 		     For me, being a newbie to the lifestyle ended about 13 years after my first real time experience.   Personally, if the learning and personal growth comes to an end, I don't believe I will find this lifestyle as fullfilling as I do now.   D/s like life in general is a journey of lessons learned and personal growth.  
   Over the years I've had the pleasure of meeting others involved in the lifestyle, both online and real time and it never ceases to amaze me that a person can be a newbie today, have one day of play and suddenly the newbie coccoon is shed.   The experience one gets from one moment of play or from a few weeks in a real time relationship is just amazing to me.  
    I think I was either slow to learn or just didn't have an amazing Master.  So for others when did being a newbie end for you?

Status: offline 		I may consider myself to be seasoned in some areas that this wonderful lifestyle has to offer, but on the other hand there are always new things to learn, new expectations to achieve, endless experiences to participate in... I will never learn, achieve, or experience everything that the BDSM world has to offer, so therefore, I will always (in a matter of speaking) be a "newbie!"

Status: offline 		The way I figure, there is always something to learn in WIITWD and even in everyday life. I don't believe the learning ever stops unless the person refuses to learn. So looking at this from that point of view, we are still still a newbie in one form or another.
    A person may not consider themselves a newbie in the general sense after being in this lifestyle for a period of time, the fact is they will come across a new experience, experience something different and want to know more, etc.

Status: offline 		I don't consider myself to be complete noob sauce anymore, but I'm definitely no guru, either. The way I see it, there is always something to learn, and something I haven't tried whether it be an entirely new activity, or just a particular technique.

As far as being generally familiar with wiitwd, I'm not a noob. In fact, I'd like to think I'm fairly on the up in that regard. As far as my favorite kink (mmm rope), I would consider myself adept but I won't be heading any serious demos anytime soon, either. As far as all that other "stuff" that I have either tinkered with or have yet to become more personally aquianted.... yup. Noob.

Status: offline 		I've been at this since 1982 (when I attended my first play party, and stopped thinking I was a lone freak or some sort) and continue it through today... I've recently found a potential partner for exploring pony play... so I'm a newbie at that...and so many other things!

Newbie is a relative term....

I agree with the statement above.......Personally I consider myself , very much a newbit on WIITWD..but on life in general?..heck no!...I am afraid time has taken that newbie patina off of me...thank you God!!!!.....Tempting

After I got an intro to various types of toys and styles and some basic knowledge on how to use them, I wouldn't have considered myself a newbie. As a gamer, I tend to see the term as meaning "you are stilling learning how to use the basic functions, change ammo, switch weapons and your basic attacks". After that, it's all levels of inexperience from my point of view.

In any aspect of life not just this world you only stop learning when you think you know everything. Also as new technologies come about and we use them in new unpredictable ways no one IMOSHO can say they know it all.

IMOSHO= in my oh so humble opinion btw, btw = by the way fyi, fyi = for your information etc., etc. = etcetera.
