soulsecret -> Convertible Straitjacket? (12/24/2007 7:27:40 AM)

Hello Everyone,
My Master and I found a straitjacket that we absolutely adored on a trip to L.A. several months ago.  It was made of black canvas, and it had a zipper up the front with D-rings for padlocks on either side.

The neat part was that each sleeve could fold up individually and clip at the shoulder, so the garment could be worn as a regular jacket.

Unfortunately, this particular item was designed to be worn by a man, and I am a small female.  Even the smallest size was far too big on me for it to be a functional straitjacket.  I contacted the vendor and the company that made the jacket to see if we could get a custom sized one, to no avail.

Has anyone seen anything like this for sale anywhere?  I really dig the idea of a straitjacket that could be worn about in public without the general populous being aware of its true function.

Thank you!

Dear soul,

I'm not sure if the jacket you are talking about is made by Lip Service or not but their sizing runs pretty small.  Check them out.

Yes, it was them.  The name of the company escaped me at the time.  Unfortunately, I'm smaller than their smallest size.  :(

We *might* be able to have it taken in a bit, but I'd rather spend the money that fits properly to begin with, you know?

soulsecret,

You are rather petite then because their XS, I thought was small.  The other alternative is custom made. . . I know a couple that brought a jacket at a thrift store and his Owner altered it to become a straight jacket.

Good Luck

Unfortunately, that jacket from Lip Service only goes down to a small.  ::sad face:: The extra small probably would have fit, too.

I imagine we'll find something eventually.  Either that or we'll just alter one that does fit or something.

Thanks for trying to help!

I wish I had a local model to help me develop a pattern for these.

I've always liked the idea of the arm binding aspect-but wanted to make them with thigh cuffs to hold down the hem, instead that stupid acess limiting crotch strap most of them have.

I think I've seen ones that have a zippered crotch with a protective flap on the inside to keep sensitive bits from catching.  That'd be pretty handy, no?

I'd prefer a totally open crotch for kink. Sort of along the lines or the crotchless and assless pantyhose they sell, and something more form fitting in the torso. Most institutional jackets are so clumsy. And probably out of a strong but softer fabric as well. It works well for sex that way, and I prefer not to rub each other raw on the fabric. Canvas is too much like sandpaper.

Admittedly, this isn't as impressive as a convertible jacket, but it still works quite effectively.

One of the various do-it-yourself bondage books (I think it was kinkycrafts) suggested using a pair of pantyhose as a straightjacket. Cut out the crotch, stuff your arms into the legs and tie the toes behind your back.

I recommend layering two pair on top of each other, and they also recommended using a third pair to tie around the face as a mask. So you have one leg tied around the eyes as a blindfold and one across the mouth as a gag.

But carrying around multiple pairs of pantyhose might not work. Still, you can easily wear the one pair and convert it easily enough. Added fun is that you can wear it back when you're done (assuming you can get the knots out), and it has the added bonus of you walking around in a pair of pantyhose with the crotch cut out.
