I freakin HATE paddles, but if I had to pick one I say thuddy. For stingy go at me hard with a flogger, though you can get a nice thuddy/stingy thing with floggers. Did I mention I HATE paddles.

I'm not sure, but I think that cuffnspankme would like to order a couple of Beuford's paddles.

I am with you. HATE paddles more than anything. I love floggers, you get both in one piece of equipment.

In this poll, they are mutually exclusive.     You must pick one...  sting or thump.

Whether it stings or thuds depends upon the material it is made of, the weight of the paddle, the shape of it and upon how it is applied.

I make lots of toys because I enjoy having many options for play, and I have not won the big powerball jackpoy so I can not always just buy anything I see.

A paddle with a shape that spills air or with holes in it moves faster than th same shpe if a solid paddle and many people perceive this hit as stingy. What part of the paddle you allow to impact makes a difference too. A strike near a paddle edge may well seem stingy, while a center hit may seem mare thuddy.

A curved paddle will feel like a harder or stingier hit if you strike towards the curve. The same weight of strike will seem lighter and maybe thuddier if you strike with the side away from the curve.

Many think the faster paddle with holes gives a harder hit, but the smooth paddle can catch a nice pocket of air which gets blasted against the "victim". This is louder, and may feel thuddier or stingier depending on how applied. Some will feel this as much more intense, others react more to the solid part of the hit.

Many rapid hard hits on the same part of the same red cheek will turn even the thuddiest paddle hits into a stinger.

There is no generic "truth" about what materials feel thuddy to all or stingy to all. Much comes from the "application".

A paddle can sting and thump, depending on how it's used. I have found that a fast light swing produces a sting. While a driving, strong, penetrating hit will produce a thump. I guess you get out of it what you put into it :)

When used on me.

It really depends on the person receiving it as to what they can handle. He can have me in tears with three swats of a stingy wooden spoon, while I'm asking for more assuming I can talk while having a heavy wooden hairbrush used on me.

I really hate sting. Just threatening me with it gets me into a zombie state, where I don't talk, afraid of doing something wrong, do what I'm told and only what I'm told and I sit around fearful.
