ever start having a great online conversation with someone, set a time to meet, then... poof!  they disappear?   i just had this happen by a supposed seasoned Dom (13 years as a Master).  now i ask ya.. is this adult behavior folks?  and i see soooo many times in profiles  " i am am real, you be also" or something to that effect.  How real can you be if you're playing this kind of game?

Is it SO hard to let a person know if you've changed your mind and have decided for whatever reason, not to meet?   [:@]

Aileen1968 -> RE: poof! (12/28/2007 11:16:04 AM)

It's never happened to me and in the thread history of collarme I don't think it's ever happened to any other member here.  You are the only one.

KyttynTheMynx -> RE: poof! (12/28/2007 11:17:20 AM)

People that poof are people you need not dwell on.  Btw, there are around 90zillion other posts on subjects like that.  Pop into those and see what useful info was written.

sunfleur -> RE: poof! (12/28/2007 11:18:25 AM)

yes i'm sure neither of you have EVER brought up a subject that has already been mentioned here.  silly me for thinking i could express myself here.

I'm sorry for your lost time and wasted hope.  It sucks.

I think most of these situations are a result of fantasy meeting reality, and fantasy wining. Something about this guy was not what he told you...his name...his age...his height...his marital status...and when faced with finally revealing the truth, he ran.

That is why I never have a serious online/long distance relationship without meeting in the flesh first, within the first month.  Anything else is just a bit of mental masturbation...

Definitely not adult behaviour and it doesn't matter what side of the fence you are on, it happens to all of us more often than you would imagine. Just shows the immaturity of some people. Better to know they are a dud now than invest lots of time in getting better acquainted.

littlebitxxx -> RE: poof! (12/28/2007 11:21:55 AM)

I hear ya, sunfleur.  Sometimes they are talking to someone else on the side and go off with them.  Sometimes they just get cold feet.  Sometimes they are just jerking your chain the whole time.  Length of experience seems to have nothing to do with it.  But you are right, they should at least say goodbye and give a reason.  Maturity is never out of date.

LOL Aileen nice to see your humor is intact still.  You are in my thoughts.

It happens to everyone OP, don't take it personally and expect it to happen again.  On an internet medium we are always walking the thin line of trying to be fair to people we encounter but at the same time weed out the undesirables.

Well excuse me for just simply saying that you might wanna check other threads to see what had been posted there.  There could have been a comment that could really help you out.  Silly me for thinking you could take a piece of advice like an ADULT.  And for the record, the one thread I have posted, I did check to see if it was already posted about before I put it up.

Btw, please note I was nice in my first post, and I gave you advice.  People that poof, are people you need not dwell on.

faerytattoodgirl -> RE: poof! (12/28/2007 11:24:09 AM)

Regular thing to happen to me.

Sometimes i get a msg and before i open it the account is deleted before i can even see what the msg is!

HottLicks -> RE: poof! (12/28/2007 11:24:23 AM)

I'm sorry you were disappointed and seemingly hurt by a seasoned adult cyber dom.  Try not to let the little bugs bite make you itch.  Move on... there are some decent people out there.  Don't invest yourself in someone until they have shown up or proven themselves.  It goes easier that way.  Good luck!

SL4V3M4YB3 -> RE: poof! (12/28/2007 11:29:05 AM)

You have to give this Dom the benefit of the doubt because maybe he was run over by a bus or something. We always jump to the wrong conclusions when people are being run over by busses on a daily basis.[8|]

I have changed my mind about someone and told them this, and then got weird psychotic emails from them...

~FR~

Before you go getting all pissant-ish, this is about the 3rd thread in the past 7 days on this subject that I have seen. You are free to express yourself here, however I'd suggest what many do, and research here first to see if you can find recent threads containing this issue. Read what they have to say and if you're not satisfied, then begin a new thread.

Regards,

EG

angelikaJ -> RE: poof! (12/28/2007 4:44:15 PM)

That has happened to me a couple of times...sometimes I have actualy heard back from them a month or more later...usually they got scared for some reason or other.

The same things that happen in the "vanilla world" happen here...people lose their nerve.

windchymes -> RE: poof! (12/28/2007 5:11:58 PM)

You'll find that in online BDSM-land, there is an unusually high rate of untimely deaths.  It's most unfortunate.  Make sure your insurance is paid up.[:-]

mnottertail -> RE: poof! (12/28/2007 5:55:50 PM)

And it is winter out there, don't forget to check the frigid and ice riven ditches for dying doms reaching their hand emptily and  with futile gasping last breath resignation into the air and saying, God----I loved that Anais Nin quote on their profile, and I never said it to them and they will never know.

I know it happens, I seen alotta doms in that sort of situation, usually; the slave eventually comes to grips with the untimely passing, justifies it and goes out and fucks someone else and that may take as long as two weeks........

I know it is unfair and it makes you rail against god, but that is the way the world works, and has since time immemorial.

So Ron, are you saying the best way for her to handle this is to go and fuck someone else???

Next time I have a one-night-stand, I'm blaming it on poofing doms....
