It does happen. I met Fox the day he joined, although not with the actual intention of keeping him for myself.
Sometimes whirlwinds work out sometimes they dont.

My first instinct when I read this thread a few hours ago was "wow, just met and already expecting to be owned". But I decided Id just bite my tounge.

Come back after looking under all the furniture for abandoned dirty socks and tell us how much you love it. The early stuff is all giddy excitement, but the ability to deal with the rest is what keeps it going.
