There seems to be quite a few around, and whatever anyone says about Paul, he is still the best choice for President. Once we get everybody accounted for I will go so far as to start a Usenet newsgroup.

What can we do to get him into the chair ? I have no money for someone who raises $5.4 million in a day. Money is not the answer. Our side will never have enough money because the other side prints the money.

Getting Ron Paul in is to get someone from our side on the side who prints the money. Fiscally responsible, he wouldn't let his kids take grants to go to college. Don't get me wrong, life will be a pain in the ass if he gets elected. Some check people will not be getting checks anymore, and I think people who want an education might just have to earn it. The way it used to be.

We can take this pain in the ass sooner, and maybe be OK, or we can keep the juggling act going until it all falls down and have alot bigger pain in the ass later. And then we will not be OK. Your choice.

All Ron Paul suporters respond. Let us know who you are, well at least your nickname here. Some of this we take to the other side and actually I am very interested in starting a Usenet group.

His five million dollars doesn't mean shit without us. Respond here, I'll get back to you on the other side, or get to me on the other side, whichever. Eventually when the new group is up, all are invited.

to tell the truth, Im not compleatly happy with all of his ideas, but....I have to admit at this point I think he's the best choice of the bunch. Do I agree with everything he says? Nope. But I do believe he's the one to shake things up...and I definantly agree thats whats needed right now.

Status: offline 		I've not made a decission on who I desire for president, so I don't think you can call me a supporter.

I do however admit that his part in this race is doing the race overall a good service.  Regardless of the final outcome of the election, the effects of his partipation will be known, even if just for a moment in time.

That's exactly what we need to do is to *shake up* a Washngton that no longer *LISTENS* to the PEOPLE but where legislation is made by Corporations and Lobbyists on "K" street!
Take all those "Trade Deals" for instance. They're nothing more than "Outsourcing" deals.
They're not building up any "trade markets" they're moving American companies there for cheap labor!
If the *only* thing RP accomplishes is to get rid of the IRS and replace it with a national sales tax that would be a tremendous accomplishment!
Like he's said, we shouldn't have 700 bases in 130 countries!
And embasseys in almost every country in the world!
*Imperialism will bankrupt this country.*
And, he's the only candidate who will immediately begin withdrawing Troops from Iraq!
Hillary said they'd be there until "2013!"
Of course the lawyers and lobbyists in Washington don't like him because they're making $Billions off of "contracting" in Iraq.
So you KNOW that they're going to be going at Ron Paul with an absolute vengeance!
They KNOW where their gravy train comes from!
Of course no-one's perfect but Ron Paul is head and shoulders above every other candidate in either party with the lone exception of Mitt Romney who's almost "too honest."
He doesn't even drink coffee.

I don't think the man has any realistic chance, but I'd like to think he's opening some eyes along the way.

He's the only one worth casting a vote for out of the entire 2008 crop, as far as I'm concerned.

Status: offline 		I'm voting for him in the primaries.  I don't think he has a chance in hell of winning the Republican nomination.  But maybe he can get talked into running as a Libertarian or a Independent.  I think he could get the numbers to stand on the debate platform with the Dem and Rep candidates.  I would love to see that.  It might wake some people the hell up in this country.

I don't know about that Bubba.  I think Ross Perot came damn close to pulling it off in '92.  If he hadn't started with the nutty speeches; I think he might have won.  I remember him being higher in the polls then Clinton and Bush Sr. at a few points prior to the election. 

I don't think most people pay attention to the primaries.  The people who never vote, and are just now considering it almost never turn out for them.  I honestly don't think Paul has a shot with the Republican nomination.  I am crossing my fingers and rubbing my rabbit's foot, but I am also realistic.  I think his best bet is going independent.

Status: offline 		If you go back to my Ron Paul thread back in August I gave him a 10% chance of winning the republican nomination and a 10% chance winning the presidency as an independent.
Two components of that second chance:
a national poll asked: If the choices are Guliani, Clinton and ANY candidate committed to overturning Roe vs Wade who would you vote for.
15% chose the latter.
(I am pro-choice by the way).
Now I wonder if the survey had said:
IF the choices are Guliani, CLinton and ANY candidate committed to getting out of Iraq immediately how many would pick choice C?
15%? 20? 25?
ANd then I wonder what percentage of those two would renege when the other was added in and would it be enough to win?
Hammer Clinton from the left as "Pro-war Hillary" and "pro patriot act Hillary".
Hammer Guliani from the right as pro-abortion, pro-gun grabbing Rudy.
And see if that adds up to enough to win.
Honestly I only think he would run if he thought he could WIN; not just do well.
He 100% sure could determine which of the above bozos was president by decidng which side of the above to focus on.
But I don't think he will run because I don't think he believes he could WIN.

But everyone can vote,
It is going to take more.

What ?

I would like to increase public recognition of the name so that even if he doesn't win, one day the suits are going to be sitting in their office and say "maybe we better not do that".

You must realize though, that it is going to be a personal sacrifice for anyone who gets a check from the gov. Social security might endure his tenure, but not much else.

Understand that this is real change, and it is going to hurt. But those of us who have the stomach for it must do alot more than just vote. I am considering going door to door.

I will have to look into forming that group.

Status: offline 		I support him. It's a bit to late though for you to do much. I mean it's like a week away, before the caucus's start. It's all over after the first round if he doesn't finish second or win one. The media will just ignore him. The Nazi's at fox are already excluding him from the next debate. And the Hitler Youth(lol, not full fledged nazi slime, except George is qualified), over at abc are talking of excluding them from their debate to. So, you got one more more go of this over the near term, before it's a total blackout. Then there will only be the internet, which is good, but you don't reach most 60+ year olds on the internet. So, it's officially been squashed if things don't pan out in the near term. I'd suggest if you want to help, donate money to the groups helping in the early primary states. you can go to ronpaulforums.com and find the groups.
