Here's a new one (for me): "My slave wants to have her labia and clit hood removed and I don't want to do it myself. Do you know of any resources or "kink friendly" Doctors in [my/your] area. What would you say......other than 'take her to 'Old Africa'? <sigh> I just tend to iggy these guys as rabble rousers. What say you?

Labioplasty has become a booming business. If you answer at all, direct them to contact a certified plastic surgeon who specializes in labioplasty. It's really not so different than women who want their breasts enlarged. Sorry to hear that it freaks you out.

Eh... as long as they get it done safely and she is actually informed of the risks/benefits, I see as being a totally different thing than mutilation. It's modification, something I kinda think is sexy and, under the right circumstances, incredibly empowering.

What is more empowering than deciding for ourselves how we want our temples to look rather than letting other people tell us what we should do with them, be it to keep everything as we were born with or to remove what we want?

female mutilation? absolutely disgusting, but then there are those who get into the shocking and disgusting. there are medical risks involved, even in the controlled environment of our medical system. it's no wonder so may women/girls die because of the unsanitary conditions in which these procedures are done and the lack of medical care after. if you're going to go thru with it, get yourself a good surgeon at a reputable facility. just be sure you want it, because the scarring could be incredibly ugly, nothing like what you imagine it to end up being. loss of sensation due to nerve damage could be more than expected as well. I was in no way attempting to be condescending. You asked for my point of view, I gave it. In situations where the change is what the woman wants, it isn't mutilation, it's modification and it's something can be quite empowering as I can vouch for myself. Your OP asked for my thoughts, I gave them. I see nothing condescending in what I wrote, simply an opinion drastically different than your own.

OP, please do some research on your own and stop spewing all over us. You could google "labioplasty". Whether you're horrified and disgusted or not, this sort of surgery is very common in America; and it has nothing to do with Africa or forced child mutilation. We could argue the merits of plastic surgery, yeah, but why bother.

FR ~ Just a sidenote but in female genital mutilation a girl is not always held down and physically forced to have it done. There's quite a bit of societal pressure and expectation to have it done, so many of girls get the procedure done willingly. So to me its not to different from what this woman wants done, and not much empowering about removing the main ability to have intercourse (not to mention opening yourself up for a world of health complications afterwards). C~

Some reasons I've read have ranged from visual attraction to better sexual function.Hopefully anyone actually interested in having this done would do the proper research.

The difference to me is that society isn't pressuring her to have this done. Assuming the dominant isn't either, this is something that she wants. Having been there myself, changing your body in the ways that you want can be remarkably empowering. I'm simply not willing to condemn her, her dominant and compare the whole mess to mutilation off a few sentences probably taken out of context. I really can't judge someone's decision to alter their bodies without talking to them personally.

That note could have been written by me 4 years ago (and maybe was) and I wouldn't regret having written it. My master was completely up front with wanting to do that to me and eventually going through with it. I accepted it as part of who we were together.

May i ask, and did you have it done? And if not, why? While i understand that the original message stated she wanted to have it done and represented it as her choice... is it really? Wouldn't you agree her 'frame of mind' would be different with a Master who desired it? My point being, if you TRULY wanted to have this procedure done, wouldn't you have done so even if you were no longer with this particular master?

While not LA, would you pose the same questions if someone was talking about getting a tattoo that their master desired or breast implants? Sometimes people will do things and want to do them because their partner wants it. That doesn't diminish their wanting to do it, though they may want to give it more careful consideration because of it. If you know that you won't regret it later if things go badly, why not do it?
