So I come back after three days absence on CM and find...6? new threads about relationships ending (mostly "princes" turning out to be "frogs").

This is nothing new- a lot of people wait until after the holidays to do a final break up because they don't want to add to the stress or give up their presents beforehand.  And the new year gives a good push to make the changes they want to make.  Not to mention all those spring loves are crushing under the winter cold.

What ways do you think may exist to help next years post holiday blitz be a little less of a problem?  Fewer people let down?

I say wait until the new year to start a relationship anyway.  Save on buying that SO a gift and save yourself the heartache of having that SO break up with you.

Wow... is it just six?

Perhaps folks should follow retailers' recommendations and get an early start... beat the holiday rush and break off those flagging relationships before the end of August.  Saves having to worry about what to buy for Christmas, too.  [;)]

I think we should tell people "no new relationships in the 4th quarter of the year!!"
