I would suggest, then, that you start being reasonable. Demons? Com'n man, the stars are where it's at! They hold our destinies in their bright, twinkly selves! (Okay, fine, so the stars are paying me to bash the demons as an advertising gimic. But, they're pretty and everything!)

Personally, when I'm considering a love affair, I consult my horoscope. You see, the lady who write the newspaper whoroscopes around here.. she's hardcore psychic and in tune with the zen of things. She knows who will be a good match for me this season by just knowing what time of the year I was born in!

Oddly enough, everyone born in the same part of the year always seems to have the exact same destiny.. but it's cool, because it's cryptic and mysterious and can mean different things, so long as you remember to read it vaguely enough!

Dear Santa's Minions: Endorsement costs double now. And stop freaking hopping on my shoulders when I'm trying to enjoy my porn, you fuckers, or I'll get you exorcised by Jenny Creg.

Yes, but the stars don't come over and drink all my booze while giving me bad advice. I need an anthropomorphic personification to lay all my hopes and fears on, and that guy with the beard looks too much like santa claus. His buddy with the horns is pretty cool, though, and he's always trying to tempt me with some special offers, so maybe I'll give him a try. Hey, if I ever suffer seller's remorse and want m soul back, it's good to know that the vatican is arming special covert exorcism squads. They can rappell down the gates of hell and go in all SWAT-like to rescue me from the clutches of satan.

hisannabelle -> RE: exorcism squads (12/31/2007 5:52:40 PM)

oops.

CuriousLord -> RE: exorcism squads (12/31/2007 5:56:08 PM)

My post wasn't to you, hisannabelle. No matter how I might feel about your beliefs, it's not in my nature to be so crude as to single you out for such harrasement. Nor are my posts really mean-spirited.. I'm just joking about a particular thing that I happen to see as rather silly.

hisannabelle -> RE: exorcism squads (12/31/2007 5:57:40 PM)

yeah, i figured it out. *shifty eyes* what? long post by me up there? there was no long post by me up there! whatever could you mean? edit something out? not me!

sorry. i'm tired. realllllly really tired. that's my excuse!

(it didn't sound like something you would have directed at me. usually i really like your posts :P happy new year!)

CuriousLord -> RE: exorcism squads (12/31/2007 5:59:40 PM)

Hah, it's okay.

Happy New Year's; only three hours to go here!

hisannabelle -> RE: exorcism squads (12/31/2007 6:07:06 PM)

here also! :) i'm not sure i'm going to last, though. i should probably detach myself from the keyboard and get some sleep soon, hehehe. i was planning to get drunk tonight, because, well, it's new years, and i've never been drunk on new years before...but...that just takes so much effort. ;)

Rushemery -> RE: exorcism squads (12/31/2007 6:24:38 PM)

I knew we didnt have that many churchs in the area, but why are they surrounding my house and whats that big fire pit for I wonder if they need someone to order the beer

Suleiman -> RE: exorcism squads (12/31/2007 10:09:10 PM)

Don't worry. They're here for your protection. And yes, they would like a beer.

Petronius -> RE: exorcism squads (1/1/2008 5:24:35 AM)

It's an interesting example of power and perception, or of how differently we tend to think of somebody based on the amount of power they have.

A regular guy, instead of the Pope, would draw questions of whether he went off his medication. A less polite way of putting it would be the guy is a fucking nut -- but of course the Pope has power, doesn't fuck, and can't be a psycho.

it is not unexpected given the history of this particular Pope he was after all the leader of the Society for the Propagation of the Faith!

Yes and you know that that particular "Society" is the new name for the "Office of the Inquisition"  The Catholic church never stopped the Inquisition, they just changed the name!

windchymes -> RE: exorcism squads (1/1/2008 6:54:31 AM)

Maybe they think if they give the priests more to do, it will help take their minds off the altar boys. [&:]

I know...straight to hell.

Funny thing is, I live in a house FULL of pagans.

You may not have meant to imply this, but you did (to me at least) - that paganism =/includes satanism. Paganism does NOT equal/include satanism; they're not even remotely close! If we can possibly stop using the two interchangeably, and/or in the same sentence it would help!

Suleiman -> RE: exorcism squads (1/1/2008 7:37:02 AM)

I never used the word Satanism anywhere in that post hon. I said "godlessness" at one point, because that was a word used in the original Daily Mail article, and I used Athiest at one point, in reference to a comment made by an offline person with whom I'd had a conversation on the subject. I did use the word Satanist in my next post on the topic, when I was commenting on the wierd dichotomy between satanists and christians, in the context of another person's question regarding the subject. I have never equated pagan and satanist, and rarely even use the two in the same sentence. Except just now, but I'm recovering from last night.
