I can post wherever I want to. I gave a WOMAN'S opinion and I stand by it.

Your post only showed up a few hours ago.

Many people are at work or taking care of family or business.

If no one replies in a few days, you might be justified in feeling ignored but geesh, give it some time.

Now for me personally I didn't reply because I see this type of post all the time on the boards. Usually from people who have not participated in the boards themselves.

Is it fair that I get tired of giving my same old advice? Maybe, maybe not, but right now that's how I'm feeling.

Take a look through the forum and find similar posts and the threads they spun off. Review that information before asking for specific information.

Remember we don't know you from Adam. Actually given how much has been written about Adam over the centuries, probably we known him better.

Thus general advice repeated over and over should be helpful as a starting point.

11 posts and already bitter and nasty?  wow ...

I was asleep until a little bit ago, so I managed to miss your first thread (which I'm now ignoring, since you decided to start this one up - obviously you want to chat here).

The picture you have is horrible - I'd write you off as a potential stoner if you messaged us.  I haven't read your profile yet, but honestly, based on your picture, your screen name and your current attitude - I have no desire to.

Yes, this is the "as a mistress" forum - but where, exactly, does it say that other people can't post?  Try losing the chip on your shoulder, reading what the others have said, and searching for other threads on the same topic (there are at least 10 that I can think of from the last 2 months ... at least you aren't alone in your lack of desire to do any work for answers).

Edited to add:  I'm also wary of people with screen names like "badboy" "naughtyone" etc ... it says to me that you enjoy being a pain in the ass.  We have no desire for anyone who is constantly pushing boundaries and/or acting out to get "punished" ... your screen name just screams that you would be that kind of person.

Most see this form of asking for profile advise as a kind of advertising said profile. That is probably why you got the results you did. This is a discussion forum and if everyone wrote posts asking for opinions on their profile; which many people still do, the forum would be full of crap that no one cares about and hard to wade through.

You’ll have more success if you enter into discussion because then people will look at your profile out of curiosity as to who holds such opinions. A nice photo also grabs people’s attention and directs them to your profile.

Pretty generic profile really. What sets you apart from the zillion other male subs vying for the attention of a much smaller pool of female Dominants? I do like the colors though, whatever that's worth.

I see whining.  I see self-conceit.  I see crying for attention.

I do not see nasty.

Actually I am rather confused at the whole point of this.

So, just what are you right about?

To the OP: don't feel bad, you're not being ignored on account of being a generic sub.  Point in case: the ratio of Male Doms to female subs is, so i'm told, about 1 to 20.  IOW, a zillion female subs supposedly vying for the attention of a much smaller male Dom pool.  I've had profiles here before as well as on bondage.com, alt.com and other places.  My experience, and that of many other male Doms, is that most subs will not reply to our messages.  Reasons usually given: "i get too many messages" (from whom?), "i know what i want and don't bother with other applicants" (i wasn't aware i needed to apply), "i can't afford the time" (or the manners apparently), "i've had rude replies back" (and the reason was....?), "i don't want to encourage fakes" (much better to discourage the real ones!).

Good points were made earlier about leaving a reasonable time to get a reply, but be prepared: only a handful of people actually participate here, the rest are lurkers, posers and wannabees.  And i mean that nicely. :)

I didn't say he was a generic sub. I said his profile didn't stand out. He asked for advice, I gave advice based on what I saw.

Women reply or don't reply to messages or profiles for unlimited reasons, stemming from our autonomy to choose who we are interested in.

One can choose to stand out from the crowd by sending interesting e-mails and making one's profile interesting, or one can choose to come whine about posers, fakers, lurkers, and wannabes. And I mean that nicely. : )

Just for the record, I answer every message I get even though it gets spectacularly tiresome to read snarked-up sour-grapesisms after I say "No, thank you. I'm not looking for anyone right now. Please read my profile."

Incidently, so did I.  Perhaps there is room for more than one viewpoint...

What you regard as "autonomy", I have observed as a "spectacularly tiresome" and boringly predictable pattern.  And I have lost count of sincere platitudes such as:..

One can choose to stand out from the crowd by sending interesting e-mails and making one's profile interesting,

which, ironically, unsolicited emails will get you labelled as a troll, and "interesting" but decidedly politically incorrect file (autonomy, anyone?) as patronizing, arrogant and cynical.

(I am not convinced, somehow)

So evidently it's acceptable to whine about sour-grapes, but not about sour-pusses.  I'll stand by what I said: you'll hear from a vocal minority, and not necessarily what you would like to hear.  the rest of the crowd might as well be bots.

Of course there is but don't throw stones at my viewpoint if you don't want me to take offense.

Boringly predictable? You mean rejection? It could be your patronizing combattive attitude. It tends to turn people off.

Unsolicited e-mail won't get you labeled as such per se ... but being patronizing, arrogant and cynical sure will.

It doesn't matter if I like what I hear - it's a message board and we each have opinions to something if we post. I'm not here to make nice or kiss anyone's behind, nor am I here to set anyone's pants on fire - I'm here for entertainment and conversation. Not everybody is going to like what anybody else has to say from time to time.

Sometimes the banter can be interesting. I mean that in a completely non-combattive way.
