Greetings folks--

Here's an interesting article about how it's tough for most Iowans to vote in the caucuses (too long for a quote). Among other things, it's early evening, you have to report at a certain hour, and you have to stay 2 hours. There are no absentee ballots.

Caucuses are a throwback to the 1800's when most people were Farmers.
They simply exclude too many people like the Army Captain on duty in Iraq who's from Iowa. You have to be there "in person" for up to 2 hours and local party business is also discussed and no absentee ballots are permitted.
It will give somewhat of a developing picture of the race but the first *Election* is in New Hampshire.

Caucuses baffle me, and after reading that article I am a bit more confuzzled than before. I just don't understand why they are so important especially in this day and age of immediate news and immediate results.I'm not stupid but this subject is one that I have always struggled to understand.
