You have probably heard the news that the Sunnis as a bloc have rejected the proposed Iraqi constitution and that the different parties are no closer to bridging their differences than they were a week ago when the first deadline was passed. Now two deadlines have been missed.

But did you know that the police chief of Basra believes "that he had lost control over three-quarters of his police force and that militiamen inside its ranks were using their posts to assassinate opponents."

Or that the murders which reached a record 1100 in one month, not counting car bombs, are also taking a sinister turn in Baghdad?

Iraq will always be fucked up. We can't them. We got rid of one tyrant and are trying to put in new leaders for a puppet government. Not a bad idea for trying to have the country civil and free of tyrany. However, it obvious that theres another tyrant in the making who is just licking there chops and waiting to make the right move. Whose to say that the person we leave in charge after elections and all will be a crafty politition who pulls a 180?

One of my many issues with the current situation is that Bush isn't going to take responsibility for the current situation and will happily turn his back on the whole mess that he created once his term is up.

The GOP will use the war to try and keep a conservative in office by playing the "Don't change horses in the middle of a race" card. Hey... If a racehorse shits itself and keels over in the starting gate, I wouldn't be opposed to finding a new horse.

The sad fact is that the news and media groups are eating all of this up like freakin candy and on top of it all they are showing footage of how to make a bomb and also popping ideas of where they could attack and do the most damned damge. I feel this is going to get much worse untill we get "King George" out and replace him with a less evil weasel. Just my oppinion.

Well, on the up side - the good news is that the pro-war argument is losing steam quickly; more and more people are falling into the "end-the-war" camp; the exposed lies (despite attempts to supress them) are getting so numerous that most folks aren't falling for them any more; more people support Cindy Sheehan than Dubya right now; even conservative newspapers are running more anti-war editorials than pro-war; and GOP lawmakers are starting to part with the administration.

Now, if only we could a good, ole'-fashioned Slick Willy style impeachment going. . .

The deal is and was that Sadass, is not a bad influence on that country . Once we kicked his ass out of Kuwait, the situation was really on the order of the Khaddafy standings. Although I was a firm believer that anyone who invades another country (especially unprovoked) should be tried or executed, depending on if you can get them to World Court. That didn't happen. The only situational resolution to that chunk of babylon is to get a Saddam look-alike in there, however that happens and let them play in the sandbox. The only proviso is to play nice when you come to the neighbor's. wiitd should not affect the poeple at large.

We had no buisness going in, staying or trying to twist them to a government of our backing or choosing. We can not fix the fact that the chinese are communists, end of joke. trying to do so will ruin us. If we as the most powerful nation on earth are our brothers keepers, we should consider how meddling in internal affairs affects the planet as a whole and forever, not just a 4 year american short-attention span cycle.

The funny thing about Kuwait was that Sadam had the permission of Bush Sr.'s administration before he went in.

Consider this: The US spends more revenue on defense and security than the rest of the free world combined. Yet US citizens don't feel safe enough. Hmmm. . .
