As I have have been choosen to join a family, in another state, and as I am under a one year rental/lease, breaking this has the potential to have some severe finiancial conciquences, and having been given 3 differant ideas of how to handle the retirement of the rental/lease. ie; subrent/lease, relocation hardship, due to job/family matters, or finiancial hardship, also job/family related, and as my cituation has neither of the aformentioned, if there is anyone that has some exsperience in the matter as it is here, I would be elated to hear from you, anyone that knows of or recorse for myself like to hear about it. thanks very much. I did talk to an attorney, and the aformentioned were his ideas...anyone else ?

occassionally landlords will allow you to find someone to take over the lease as long as they meet the landlords approval and credit check. most likely in this situation your deposit will switch over to the new tenant. the reason landlords like a lease is because of the cost to make sure all property repairs are done and the ads to find a new tenant so if you take all that away from them they might just be willing. talk to the landlord and find out.

Read your lease and read the fine print sometimes there are other ways of getting out of it. Only you can decide what you can do just like the attorney said. Some times a little white lie doesnt hurt.

thanks for the answers , has given some reason to get a microscope....lol...the added input is appreciated. will take those into mind and check each out, tho the landlord chat has already been done, but never thought of given little word twisting....Im slow.....lol

Because I live in a college town, all our leases are 1 year. Often, landlords will allow the lease to change over from one person to another for a small fee. When one roommate moved out, and another moved in, we switched the name on the lease, and that was thjat.
