People, as a whole, seem to always focus on the negatives of things in this world of ours... I think it's important for us to, every now and again, take a step back and talk about the good things. Specifically, of course, the good things we've experienced in our respective times in the lifestyle. It's just a few days into 2008 and all...so why don't we share some good stories that we can aspire to top in the coming year?

My best experience in the lifestyle, of course, was meeting my Owner first and foremost right when I wasn't looking to even be owned...the love and devotion I feel for her is so amazing that I really wasn't sure I could feel...and then meeting a lot of wonderful people here on the collarme forums as a rather direct result of all of that. I've been known to speak fondly to my Owner about some people I've never even spoken directly too. You're a fun bunch! :-p

So yes, finally taking the plunge...so to speak...into the lifestyle and finding happiness so quickly has been my best experience thus far. The countless amazing things involved in our relationship, of course, is counted among this...

I have found this site to be probably the best for D/s on the internet. Although just like with anything else, I get plenty of email from game players and time wasters, I have become very good at discerning the good from the bad, and I have not been jaded, and met some really articulate, intelligent, open minded people who share this common interest. Some as friends, some as subs, some as teachers, and some as students. I recently collared my first "personal" sub, who I met here, a single dad who understands exactly what my priorities are, who I am, and wants to please me very much. He has begun to take me out into the "community" and I am very excited about what 2008 has to bring. I don't respond too often to posts, but those that know me, know I am all about "positive energy" and where this is often used as a place for the whining, complaining, judging, and other such negative things, I couldn't pass up an opportunity to help spread the GOOD news!

Well, 2007 didn't start out worth a shit, but it did a complete 180 around July. I was dumped by my girlfriend of a year and a half three days after I proposed to her on New Years Day at midnight. Not only did she turn down my proposal, but decided to break up with me three days later. Yay!!! What I didn't realize was about seven months to the day on the luckiest day of the year (07/07/07), I was going to discover the greatest domme I could ever hope to find. It took a lot of work, but I finally got Her to take the plunge and take a chance on me. I know I've never been happier, but I won't speak for Mistress. I'll let Her make Her own post here.

Anyway, I fell in love with Her almost immediately and have yet to meet Her in person. I dated a couple of other girls before Mistress came into the picture, but there was always something lacking. Mistress is such a complete person with goals and visions of the future. She is such a loving woman on top of everything else, so I know I can trust Her with both my submission and heart. You know who you are and you ROCK!!! These are people I am so happy to have befriended.

2008 should be a good year because I have the best Mistress in the world, good friends that I really like hanging out with, and LSU is going to win the national championship on January 7!!! Geaux Tigers!!!

Hi all! new to this board and all, I figured that no better subject could be the first I am to jump in on so here goes: My partner and I have been together for almost 3 years in real life, having met in a game online. Id have to say best experience being the last part of 2007 where everything finally just started to click into place for the both of us, and the freedom I now have to live my life the way I best deem it to be :D...The two of us are both into poly, and I have been a domme for the better part of the last decade in my life ( I am now 30) Living with a partner who is judgement free about my needs and desires is perhaps the most liberating experience ever for me. While I do miss the familiarity of my old community (was very close to the people who attended the same munch as I did in Mass.) I am looking forward to meeting people up here in Canada and getting involved in the community up here. Viva 2008!

7/7/2007 was indeed a very lucky day. After having a year which I was pretty much screwed over by everyone I thought I could trust I decided to give up on finding that "one" and just have fun while I was still young enough to do so. However on that day I recieved an email and the name rubberpet caught my eye. After weeks of slowly responding to his mail (lucky if I responded every other day if not once a week.) I think my best moment in 2007 BDSM wise was having my boy move in with me and it not going tits up

Watching the effort and time we put into not just our standard relationship but our kinky one too all workout so nicely to the point where everything feels so perfect and right has been so rewarding. Gaining loads more equipment and finding new kinks has been a highlight too.
And then just before the year ended I found what seems to be a perfect new edition to our dynamic in the form of a very nice man who has become my gardener and yoga instructer. My best experience in 2007 kink wise was moving in with M, my partner of years and sometime Dom. Living together has been a fulfilling experience and very healthy for our relationship.

My best experience in kink would have to be the time I went to a play party and was playing all evening with friends, lovers, and play partners. Almost 5 hours straight of delicious rush after delicious rush.

My best moment...hmmm...well, from last year, that's a tie between two things.

2007 was such a great year for me personally, my boy and I finally got to enjoy all the hard work we put into renovating/decorating our flat (apartment) and are now living together. In the past I had an internal struggle going on with having my personal space encroached upon (that's how I felt) and it is liberating to finally enjoy someone I continue to be enthralled with. He had felt somewhat 'detached' from his emotions, telling me that he'd only ever really cried once growing up and that it was one of his wishes to experience a cathartic release. He got his wish some months ago and it was wonderful to hear him sobbing as a result of a session we'd had, holding him for hours afterwards and not having him feel the slightest bit embarrassed.
