Hmmm... Depends on how you define romance. In the classic tradition, then yes. I've managed to mantain a very satisfying online romance that I hope to one day consumate in person. There are those who insist that you can not have a real relationship online. They use a very limited definition of relationship. You can not fuck online, at least not yet. You can not really do anything other than talk in an online format. Talking constitutes a relationship, and yes, can even be the basis of a romantic relationship. Just not a sexual one. There are arguments on whether or not a person can enter into a D/s style relationship in a purely online format. I think you can prepare the groundwork for one, which may be made whole and actual once the involved parties finally meet in the real world. That's not romance, though. And yes, you can explore the scene. You can learn what other people do, you can ask questions, watch video seminars, and talk with your romantic liason regarding what they want, what they are looking for, and how it can be made into a working part of your relationship. Just one piece of advice: Just do whatever you're going to do, and don't ask for permission from a bunch of chatbots.
