Status: offline 		We just purchased a 24 inch genuine leather mini cat o nines whip on Ebay for 99cents. I was wondering what is the difference between a flogger and cat o nines whip?

all things depend upon how used, but in general, a cat usually has much more of an intensity than a flogger as well, due to the knots or braids or both. good price, though. congratulations.

9 Tails discribes the number of falls on the cat and cat denoted a round braid.

Flogger is as mentioned above generally denotes a multi tailed tool with flat falls.

I've seen everything from 5 to 100 falls on a flogger

When it comes to toys you generally get what you pay for Some deals are to be found but you can really expect to pay a minimum of $50 for a flogger that will last any length of time. and the more you pay up to a point will get you more quality until you get to mostly cosmetic differences, around the $250 mark.

(note generalized statement with all the benifits and drawbacks of one)

Short, flat, ragged, scrap leather flails. Leather on thin handle just spiral wrapped and tacked in a few places.

Ain't that the truth....

Although good equipment costs more, it's worth it in the long run. It FEELS much better, handles much better, and will last much longer.

It's better to hold off buying equipment until you can afford something a little decent; you'll only end up throwing the garbage-y toys away. Meanwhile, it's not difficult to make rope floggers or the like on your own.

Ebay used to have some great BDSM items; I found a number of small vendors through them (London Tanners, Kittens Toy Room, among others).

About 3 or 4 years ago, they cracked down on selling kinky toys, banned using the term "BDSM", and started regularly pulling auctions of kinky leather products.

Since then, although there's SOME items up for sale on there, there's not a lot and many tend to be of the "cheap/crappy adult toy store" variety rather than quality leather products by lifestyle craftsmen (guess which is my preference to buy).

www.fetishauctioneer.com is run by lifestyle people now, and isn't a bad alternative.

Status: offline 		You do get what you pay for..quality is worth more than quantity...talk to others about their impliments...fell them, look closely at them....make your own...sartans site is good, www.saroftreve.com. There are others...look on the forum here on apparel and items...there is a link section...fetish autioneer is good...I use ebay on some...I just use the word floggers but I also get other things in that but you can weed through it..you can buy leather pieces on ebay..I have gotten some great peices from there...Of course there is Tandy leather..I find them more expensive...there are choices out there....again, I can't stress enough, look for quality..

Status: offline 		I have to admit...with some toys it's best to go with the good and expensive.........BUT not all toys have to be...I found a 24in. light flogger short handle long falls and a great sting to it and I like it very much....one of my favorite floggers....guess what?..I bought it on Ebay 7 bucks. i think sometimes it's even fun to make you're own. My sub seems to really enjoy some of the home made fun toys

Look under erverything else for the weird items category,almost anything can be found there!
There is also an extensive leather category on the site!
