I'd not want to intimidate someone, at all. Challenge, sure, but that's a different thing. I dearly want to put them at ease, at least to begin with. I'd want the opposite of intimidation; I'd love to genuinely, accidentally trip over, just so she knows that I do stumble, like all people do, and if she can't handle seeing that happen, then I can't handle trying to be some implausible, unrealistic ideal for her. There's a difference between being a rock and being someone's rock. And, anyway, I'm not a tyrant. While there's room for intimidation within a relationship, I'd never want it to be a cornerstone. In fact, I'd say the key to truly being able to intimidate someone first requires that you truly know them. Otherwise, I'll end up feeling like nothing more than some guy doing a Scary Dinosaur Impression, like a glorified party-piece. But that's just me : )
