This post may not be relevant to 24/7 subs but for the others like myself how do you feel after a session when the collar is removed and do you have a ritual as such for this part of a session or play?
My Dominant spends close time with me..talking and just taking in what has taken place am i right in thinking this is the norm?

What you refer to is generally labelled "aftercare."  Typical aftercare involves quiet cuddle time, often the s-type being pampered.

However, it can vary widely, some people do not want it at all, some insist that aftercare be given to the top and the bottom.

Whatever works for you.

After play, we cuddle and such and when we've talked and He has to leave, I kneel before my Dom and He removes the collar, takes my face in His hands and kisses my forehead. Then He gives me a hand to stand up, kisses me, and hugs me.

I'm confused...Are you speaking of a play collar? Because I don;t understand why your collar would be taken off...That would REALLY hurt my feelings, but thats just me.

I believe she's speaking of a relationship where you get together occasionally to play, the collar being put on at the beginning of a scene and removed at the end. That's what I was talking about anyway!

I'm thinking the OP should clarify that it's probably a play collar they speak of.

Imagine:
Partners get together, collar put on at the beginning of session through ritual, removed at the end through ritual.

Doesn't mean the relationship is over, not a SYMBOLIC uncollaring, just a removal of the play collar because not everyone can walk around daily with a large leather collar and a D ring hanging off their throat.

I personally loved the whole ritual of the collaring and uncollaring for play. It was hotter than hell, that little tug He would give the D-ring to make sure the collar was tight enough *shiver*

Sorry i was not clear on the collar
It is a D/s relationship we have a contract agreement, i am a single divorced guy and i have my 2 kids with me 7 days out of 14 on a cycle.
The collar i am talking of is a play collar which simply could not be worn 24/7.
I do however have a wrist bracelet which has been engraved with a simple ownership message on its underside and this i wear 24/7.
We do have a simple ritual where by i kiss the collar before it is placed on me and then after its removal we do spend some close contact.
sweetstorm i do like ritual that you have with your collar removal...very nice!
