How do we protect ourselves?
become recluses?

We protect ourselves by being responsible adults who practice some modicum of common sense.  Don't reveal any part of yourself that puts you at risk until you feel comfortable letting such things, i.e. employer, last name, address, etc. be known.  These suggestions are all over the internet for a reason.

If you are truly concerned about this, what is so wrong with deleting your CM profile and taking on another?  You start with a fucking ice cream cone - big deal.  CMail all your collarme buddies and let them know your new nic and get on with it.

Lastly, we live and learn.  Next time, ask lots of questions and make sure the stalker doesn't contradict himself.  Set your own standards - if they are too low, elevate them to a point that offers you more security.

greetings nohalo,

on the topic of just taking on a new profile - that's not all that helpful if we're the same people we were before and it comes through in our posts. if this guy is really watching her closely enough, he'll be able to tell if she takes on a new profile, so that is not going to make anyone feel safe here in her situation, in my experience.

respectfully,
annabelle.

DesFIP -> RE: blackmail (1/7/2008 2:16:26 PM)

If he really is as wealthy as he claims to be, you want to follow up police with a lawsuit. People without anything to lose don't stop, those who look at losing everything back down easier. See your attorney, you may even with him to accompany you to the police or have him ask a detective to meet you at his office. Attorneys get more respect from the police, from harassers etc. An order of protection is only of use once it's been violated. Hitting him in the wallet hurts all the time.

He's watching my every move and viewing two of us who have had problems with him.

hisannabelle -> RE: blackmail (1/7/2008 3:11:55 PM)

greetings prinsexx,

*big hugs* i expected such. my point was basically that - it's not fair to make you feel unsafe here (or anywhere), and "just create a new profile" or "don't give out so much information" is simply not a solution. it just isn't. the fact that you were not, in this case, able to protect yourself does not make you irresponsible OR lacking in common sense.

i hope you have pmed a mod about this - or that you plan to - as well as going to the police. like i said before - they may not be able to do anything (due to the issues with blacklisting), but they just might, and it never hurts to try.

please let us know how things go and that you are staying safe.

annabelle.

FYI...I was responding only to the part in her post that I quoted.

I've been there - The guy spent 10 months in jail.  It was supposed to be 3, but he just couldn't help himself and kept sending really great threatening love notes.  It took sugar in the oil in my car, 6 new tires and three months of never going anywhere alone to get him to jail.

And, I still stand by my messages.

Maya2001 -> RE: blackmail (1/7/2008 3:57:15 PM)

If he is some wealthy proper english gentleman ....don't you think he has just as much to loose if not more so than you by this by having it get to the point where police are called in ????  I am not saying not to go to the police if you are legitimately being harassed, but why make a bigger deal out of it than necessary if your employer knows and they are okay with your choice of lifestyle, he cannot do anymore further harm(so breath deep and calm down)  he took his shot and lost now the tables are turned on him and his reputation is now on the line including the possibility of having legal charges brought against.  It would seem to mean me,  it is him that has to do the worrying not you.

I know this sounds stupid but how do I PM a moderator?

hisannabelle -> RE: blackmail (1/7/2008 4:21:01 PM)

http://www.collarme.com/personals/support.htm

it is also possible to send messages to moderators as you would other members (they have profiles) but from what i understand if you are having a problem with another member it's best to use this form.

ModeratorEleven -> RE: blackmail (1/7/2008 4:47:00 PM)

Forum moderators have nothing to do with the support staff.  She should contact Support if the person in question has violated Collarme's rules.

Because quite often once they violate those boundaries they have no issue with violating others and sometimes stalkers become violent.
They do it because they like the feeling of contol and they do it because they have some sense of entitlement.
Rules and laws simply don't apply to them.

Is it just me or does the site of  Mod11's name and avatar give anyone else a jolt of adrenaline when he or she shows up?

I have to say, this is complete bullshit on his part.   Chances are he's done this before in the past, and it worked.   So he's doing it again and again, and he'll probally do it yet again.    Doms like this will just troll for another victim.

This guy doesn't deserve the term 'Dom'.  IMHO no Dom would do something like this.

I am sorry you are going through this Prinsexx.
So many losers out here, I am glad your job was understanding.
I hope you can get this creep out of your life soon.
Keep us posted

Nope, not just you. [:D] It's got to be the power MOD11 has mmmmmmmmmmmm power!!!  Well, at least it's the power thing for me... oh and of course the uniform... I do imagine MOD11 in uniform [:)]

darkpassenger434 -> RE: blackmail (1/7/2008 11:27:13 PM)

Ugh. Really sorry that you would have to put up with this crap. I agree with earlier sentiment, this guy isn't a Dom, he's a prick. I hope this gets resolved soon. BTW, does anyone else here think his whole provided backstory comes across like a load of contrived bullshit?

Leatherist -> RE: blackmail (1/7/2008 11:30:08 PM)

File charges and see what happens next. I'd go for monetary and punitive damages.
