RoughFN -> does a good thrashing help or hurt a bad mood? (1/7/2008 12:14:02 PM)

I know that this is a YMMV question, but I've started wondering how many people fall on which side of the aisle. I guess this is mainly for the masochists. If you start off in a bad mood (for whatever reason. Life's got you down), does a good torture session tend to make you feel better or feel worse? On the one hand, it's the ultimate time to tune out and fly and let everything else fade away, so it might make you feel better (at least temporarily). On the other hand, if you're not in the proper headspace to be receptive to it, it might not be beneficial at all and in fact may be the last thing in the world that you need. I think most of my girls have fallen into the latter category. They tend to overthink and obsess and worry about things to the point that they can't enjoy their normally enjoyable activities. A few even said that they rationally know that it should help calm them down and put 'em in a better mood but still can't quite reach that point where it'll work for them. If they're happy to begin with, it makes them even more happy. I guess it may almost work as simply a mood enhancer, as opposed to something that makes them feel better or worse. Just intensifies where they're at at the moment. I'm also glossing over the fact that I could just as easily whip them anyway regardless of what they want, and disregarding the subs that will say that they'll do anything necessary to please their master. Don't get me wrong - you guys are awesome and I'm not knocking that at all, I'm just curious right now about how many people can work themselves into a good mood and how many need to stay away 'til things are dealt with.
