Humbly bowing before you, i ask this question.....
If a sub comes to you w/toys (flogger, canes, dildo's etc) of her own as well as "outfits" and these were all purchased for another Dom to use on her, would you expect her to purchase new items just for you, or would you be willing to accept her w/her "used" toys/outfits?  (Can you GUESS why i'm asking this)???

First of all I would be suprized that a female was coming to me   Dildo's no problem at all, these are not shared anyway so no big deal.  As far as the floggers, canes, etc  not a problem for me.  The sub might have certain toys that just "send them into space" or that they really enjoy, I might not use them if I do not like them but I would if I liked them.  This is really a non-issue for me.

As far as the outfits, I may be gay but I sure as hell can't help you here.  Hell, I like my boy naked or in Levi's, boots and t-shirt.

I think that SirMikeSD made a good pint about the toys. I think it's the same for the outfits. If you like them you use them if not put them away.

Thank you. That's what  i thought, but i was told when i met another Dom/offered to bring my toys, he emphatically stated you NEVER have a new dom use the old dom's toys.  That was bad taste. Lol, i don't plan on buying a new set of equipment specific for each dom i may happen to meet.  That would get much too costly.
Btw, sweetstorm, i do call it my "goody bag"

if they weren't "my" toys (in terms of what goes with me when i get released), they'd be staying with the old dom, not coming to the new one. so i wouldn't worry about it. i don't buy new clothes every time i get a new boyfriend! why would i buy new toys every time i get a new master?

(that said, most of our toys would probably stay with him if i ever got released, so it's not an issue for me. but in general, i think it would be silly to say you can't use toys you've used in other relationships, unless there are hygiene concerns.)

I would really question the security level of a Dom's ego who required a submissive to purchase all new toys and outfits (easily racking up high in the $100s) simply because another Dom bought them for her as a gift.

Easy solution - if the Dom is that insecure then he simply needs to buy you new toys.  Problem solved!  Just buy a bigger goodie bag!

I wouldn't say that I purchased this stuff for my ex to use on me. That's just tacky. But I would say that here is my toy bag, and due to disease transmission I won't allow toys that have been used on others also used on me. And that if it's missing a couple of his top favs, please tell me what they are and I'll add them to the bag when I can afford to.

Just approach it as you being an adult who is protecting her own health.

I'll be another one to chime in and say it's fine with me if a sub brings along her own toys. In fact, all of my serious girls have provided at least a few of their own things. After all, people that are interested in this tend to acquire their own stuff.

Though I will admit to a certain amount of ego coming through in the fact that I have so far always had the larger toy collection. "That's nice. Now let me show you what I have."

But I wouldn't necessarily use provided toys, but that just depends upon whether I like them or not. For instance, I'm just not that in to crops, so even if you had a nice one, I might not use it. But the offer is still nice.

Regardless, at the end of the day I most certainly would not require the girl to go out and buy all new equipment. We'd use some combination of hers and mine (assuming all hygiene issues are properly dealt with blah blah blah) and each buy new toys as desired.

I've never faced this problem, since Capn and I are monogamous and all our toys are used only on me, but I would think it would make sense that a submissive who is out "playing the field" would have his or her own toys. Maybe I'm just a big ole scaredy-cat germaphobe, but I wouldn't want somebody using a cane or flogger or any other type of porous instrument on me that had been used on somebody else. I wouldn't want somebody else's butt funk transferred to me via a flogger...eeeew.

And yes- I KNOW that when I shake hands with a guy I have a one in seven chance of him having masturbated or peed without washing his hands prior to shaking my hand...that's what Purel is for. Money has traces of fecal matter on it, and why bother to wash your clothes when you're going to dump it back into a dirty laundry basket, and there's probably a little poo poo swirling around in your washing machine which is why you should use bleach, and there's bugs in peanut butter, and the vinyl seat you're sitting on at the restaurant may have just been sat on by a chick with her skirt hiked up and no panties...

Dear parttimehotty, Ladies and Gentlemen;
 
I don't have any problems using another person's dedicated tools/toys. 
 
I'll mention though, it may take a few seconds of practice with your particular floggers as each whip maker does their own 'signature' braiding and how they fall, the weight and balance needs to be established.  The same goes for single tails.  Some only keep a sweet spot on one side of the single tail and I like to use all the sides as to equal wear on the braiding and inner core.
 
Just some thoughts.

the only objection I would have is if the toys were made for a particular person. (though it would be pretty rare that that toy(s) wouldn't be with the person that is was for.) I have fairly small hands for a woman, so a flogger made for someone who huge hands, I prolly won't use.  Anything else I could say, has already been said.

I like when a bottom has their own toys because it shows they are prepared, take responsibility for their own pleasure, have been around awhile and I have a ready made set of "things I know they can enjoy and like."

I find it's often the bottoms who are reluctant to get their own set because they CAN be expensive and time consuming to build up, there is an expectation that the top should provide and the bottom should simply be passive and show up, and novice bottoms want to play even though they haven't collected any toys (traditional ones at least).

I suppose it depends on how specific the stuff is. Say, for example, you bought a schoolgirl outfit. That's pretty much a standard on any guy's kinky costume list, so it would be alright to wear again. However, if your last Dom was into something crazy...say, scuba-diving subbie fantasies, this probably wouldn't be something your new guy would enjoy as well. As for the toys, I see ne reason they couldn't be used, unless, again, they're something your new guy isn't interested in.

However, I would abstain from mentioning that you had bought them for your toys were purchased for your other Dom...I doubt anyone would be interested in a history lesson before each play session.
