In my prior relationships as a slave, yes, I certainly could have been ordered to vote a certain way and would have complied.

Actually, i talked to a "Dom" from this very site who thought it was a slave's duty to follow all Master's orders. As such, any slave of his would have been required to vote for whom he chose.

As a political science major, a deep advocate of civil responsibility and political knowledge, i was rather quick to walk away from him. Even as he mentioned i was fooling myself for thinking i was a slave... (Bitter? Me? Noo...) But, anyway. The point of this is that anyone that would tell me outright to vote a certain way would be ignored. Promptly.

You can try and convince me, be ready for a hearty debate on my end at least, but no way (even when pigs fly and hells is 70 below) will i EVER give up my vote...

Just call it a hard limit for me, i guess. It's my vote, and i don't care if that person has everything else of me. (Imagine a girl hugging a voter registration card going "Mine mine mine!" and you've got what's in my head right now.)

As an afterthought... I'm pretty good with people of pretty much any party. I'm an Independent, definitely, but i probably won't require any future Dom of mine to be a certain party affiliation...
But i think i might cry and spend many hours persuading him if he never voted.

Luckily, Mistress lets me have my own opinions and would never tell me to do something against my principles, especially telling me who to vote for.  I've made up my mind who I'm voting for, but if Hillary wins the Democratic nomination, I'd vote for Charles Manson before that bitch.  Worse yet, I'd vote Republican!

Mind you, it's not that I don't think she could do the job.  I'm sure she couldn't do any worse domesically than the dumbass running the country now.  It's because the United States would have no credibility in the international world, especially in Asia and the Middle East.  Leaders in the Middle East would never take a female U.S. president seriously and I think they would do their best to bully the United States all over the place because they don't respect women and they see them as weak.  Just my opinion, though.

Woman faught hard for it, to be able to vote too..
So let no one take that right away from you!

I know that when people would vote certain partys here.. they would never ever be My sub.

FirmhandKY would never order me to vote for someone I didn't believe in, but in a way he does tell me who to vote for... though I doubt he sees it that way.  He and I do share political orientation and philosophy but he keeps much more informed.  He shares his reasoning with me and because I trust his opinion, he is my guide.

I personally would never insist that My slaves vote one way or another.  I would discuss My opinons with them, like I would anyone, but in the end, who they vote for is their choice.  Unless, of course, they are Republican, then all bets are off!!!! (Just kidding, twas a jab at shawn)
 
Seriously tho, that would be like insisting My slaves are Catholic, just cuz I am, and that is not right, no matter what why you look at it.

I make jokes about things like this all the time, but I'd never actually do it.

I did tell one of my boys that he'd get a very severe spanking if he voted for Hillary Clinton :)

I might have been serious about that. . .

That said, I give you an approximate reproduction of a conversation I had with a Dom recently:

{insert about an hour where he drops me into a very nice subspace and I end up staring up at him with that wonderful adoring look in my eyes that subs get}

Dom: I bet you would do anything I asked right now. Even over your limits.

Grey: Yes, probably. Are you of a mind to pee on me?

Dom: {laughing} No.

Grey: Oh good.

Dom: What if I asked you to vote Democrat in the upcoming election?

Grey: Bring on the golden showers!

Master would never order me to vote for his choice. There are things that just make a person who they are and some of those are the things that you stand for and believe in. And because of those things....I belong to him.

I think that I would let my Dom tell me how to vote at first only because  I would be moving to a new country and would know nothing of the political system. So untill i knew more and by that time my views would mosre then likely be the same as His so the descison would never come up.

i would deffinitely allow my Mistress to tell me who to vote for and vote for who She told me to. i still dissagree with Her sometimes and we will argue and i'm allowed to defend my ideas and change her mind, but if She wants me to vote a certian way, that's Her choice.

[8|] im such a nerd in this category and i think its what makes me so hard to handle is when it comes to politics i am way too hard headed about my POV's and opinions. i have been a low income, non insured, single mom of 2 and up until recently i hadnt been to interested since i lost 2 brothers in Iraq and felt that voting doesnt even matter.,...(i have issues with bush...not being non patrotical..just....yanno...) anyways. i voted for Kerry because i knew that even without 9/11 wed wind up back in Iraq...and we did...so....i dont think i could find anyone who would take that from me...i have to take my situation into consideration and figure out who would be able to help people like me AS WELL as the rest of the country....cause i know im not going to find a rich sugar daddy Dom in the next century...lol[:D]

I find this interesting - being Australian where voting is compulsory (a fact i am very proud of).
I think that you shouldn't have to have politicical views forced upon you, i mean i accept the importance of theMaster/slave relationship, but politics is one of those things that, in my humble opinion, should be kept per one's own views.

Absolutely not.

If I told my girl to do something and she did it, then fine. If I told her to do something and she absolutely refused and we got into a knock down drag out argument about it, then fine. Our relationship would probably not be affected and we'd recover just fine. Probably.

But if she lied about what she was doing and didn't actually follow an order while simultaneously claiming you did, that would be devastating and extremely damaging when I found out. Note - not if. When. I'd almost certainly find out at some point, and even if I didn't, I'd have to assume that if she was willing to do it once, she'd be willing to do it other times and one of those would slip up.

This is a terrible course of action to suggest.

I agree 100%. Don't just agree to do something, lie about it, and expect to get away with it. Oftentimes, submissives will just feel uncomfortable bottling it up anyway...

It would get messy.

And for BeingChewsie: Did you say (just making sure I read right) that your Dom doesn't allow you to vote?
