Language is not a static thing. It evolves and changes over time. For example, the word "submissive" used as a noun is not proper English, yet we use it around here quite frequently and it is a colloquial usuage to do so in the larger society. It is not prostituting a word to create new uses for it, it is just an evolution of that word. I tend to get tense about certain "words" that are not "words" gaining acceptance too (like the so-called word "irregardless" for example), but I also know that if a word gets used enough in a certain way, then that definition will become an accepted definition... perhaps never the primary definition, but a secondary one nonetheless
