I'm so with you RiotGirl! For years i couldn't laugh out loud, when I found things to be funny I might laugh inside but couldn't let it out. After years of having to be the responsible one, the one who always made sure things went right, and never having actually been a kid it was just a skill I hadn't learned. Finally, in my early 20's when I had said "screw it! stop worrying so much about everyone else and start thinking about yourself!" i found myself and my child within. I had no s/o in my life to put before me and all I had was myself and my friends. I lived life finally and I learned to laugh. I would never give it up now. A few days ago I did something typically ditzy of myself and made a joke to a Dom about my ditziness being the reason I went blonde. It wasn't a blonde joke per se but more of laughing at myself, now that I can, and He simply replied very seriously "I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't make blonde jokes." He wasn't even blonde! That was when I knew that He was wayyyy to serious for me. If we can't laugh at ourselves who can we laugh at? lol
Keep laughing RiotGirl and I'll laugh right along with you!

Um, what exactly is this laughter stuff I keep hearing about? I was born into a family without a sense of humor.

O how i agree -- without humor to break the tension we'd be lost. Some things -- like your girlfirend trailing toilet paper from her shoe -- are just too funny not to laugh, even though she's embarrassed. "Course, if she really is your girlfriend, you tell her so she can remove the toilet paper, LOL.

Did you ever laugh till you cried? I have quite a few times and just the look on peoples faces makes one laugh even harder, one time when working at the factory, i was trying to break this peice of wood in two, and I had the two ends in each hand and pulled them toward myself, and before I knew it about a 2" peice went flying out of the center and hit a friend on the line right in the butt, couldn't have made such a perfect shot if I had tried, now picture this friend is about 4'5" tall, rather well endowed all over, and a woman, she turned and said "hey! ! ! !" and I just couldn't help it and started laughing so hard I had to sit down the shock on her face and my initial shock of it happening just was so overwhelming, she started laughing and we kept it up so much the super came to see what was up and so did the lead person, and of course that was about time we started to settle down only to get started all over again, and guess what? we had an unusual flow of traffic in that area of work for a good hr afterward, and another friend came to find out what we were laughing at and of course it started all over again. I had such a sore stomache afterwards. I can usually giggle at things, but to fully laugh like that it depends on my mood and how things strike me, sometimes it is the strangest things. LOL

fastlane, do you have a police costume? I can just see you standing behind some submissive saying that, with a whip in your hand, made me giggle.

I laugh often, not always appropriately, and often alone. But it's best when I know others are enjoying at least a chuckle.

For example a friend (who happens to be a femsub, but I have never head a relationship with) and I saw the new Wonka movie. The whipped Cream room had us laughing so hard I hurt and I think she teared up, but not a single other soul in the room laughed with us.

So RiotGirl, keep on laughin. As long as we have fastlane, it should be easy!

I doubt there is a time when I'm here that I'm not in danger of falling out of the chair with laughter.. Good for what passes as my soul. I get more fun taking the micky out of my self that anything else too.
