FirmhandKY -> NH Primary: Hillary "steals" election from Obama? (1/9/2008 6:19:17 PM)

Lots of people said that one of the ways that the 2004 election was "stolen" by the Republicans was due to the use of Diebolt electronic voting machines, which were rigged to give the results that Rove et al wanted.

"They" said that you couldn't trust those type of machines.

Now, in New Hampshire, all the polling said that Obama was a massive favorite to win the Democratic primary, some polls had his lead in double digits, and the talking heads were saying that it was all over for Hillary.

Hillary almost breaks down and cries ... showing emotion that for some candidates would have meant a greater slide in their numbers.

Yet ... yet ... the next morning, Hillary wins. Obama's lead "mysteriously" has disappeared. Pollsters are astonished, talking heads are buzzing in embarrassment.

Diebold favors Hillary, hand count for Obama

For the counts

Hillary victory tainted by vote fraud claims

Hillary Clinton's victory celebrations in New Hampshire were short lived after Internet bloggers uncovered that the former first lady did better in precincts where the votes were counted by the much maligned Diebold voting machines, whereas in precincts where votes were hand counted, her rival Barack Obama was the clear winner.

Illinois Senator vying to become the first black President of the United States has already conceded victory and congratulated Clinton, but the blogosphere is buzzing with allegations of vote fraud directed at the Clinton camp.

Obama garnered 38.7% of the hand counted votes to Clinton's 36.2%, but Diebold machines gave Clinton 40.7% of the vote against Obama's 36.2%.

Bloggers have highlighted the fact that the candidate placed second from each method got exactly 36.2% of the vote.

They also point out that opinion polls before the election placed Obama firmly in front in the Democrat race, with a 13 percentage point lead over Clinton.

81% of New Hampshire ballots were counted in secrecy by Diebold Election Systems, which was recently renamed Premier.

The ethical hacker Harri Hursti, who demonstrated how easy it was to crack Diebold optical scans in Leon County, Florida, testifying on September 19 before the New Hampshire legislature explaining significant vulnerabilities requiring urgent mitigations.

...

New Hampshire used Diebold version 1.94w optical scan machines, the same model that was successfully cracked by Hursti.

And the Daily Kos kicks in:

Diebold steals election for Hillary

We need to get on the ball and contact as many media outlets as possible.

It certainly looks to me like there is as much - if not more - reason to suspect skulduggery in this election.

Why am I not surprised by all this.

So why does the election board continue to use the Diebolt machines?  Wasn't there going to be a paper backup also?

About her crying... big deal.. Juliani did it, Bush Jr did it (remember the "I'm a loving guy.." when he was deciding to go to war with Iraq and feigned reluctance?) It's not just a female thing - Let it go guys...

Also keep in mind that liberals dont believe in the idea that you should have to show ID in order to vote. They think it discriminates against blacks and the poor.

So who knows who (or how many times) someone actually voted.

One thing is for sure, you can't ever predict how New Hampshire is going to vote.
They confound the pollsters every election.
It's a real maverick state.
We still have 48 states that haven't voted yet.
The two "annointed" candidates on the Democratic side now have to head into the Southern states after Michigan and that's where John Edwards is strong.
It's a strange phenomena but the candidates who come in first in N.H. don't do very well after that!
If I were a candidate I'd be more than happy with a second place showing in N.H.

I think the media is also ignoring another fact. In the primaries and caucauses, who wins each state isnt always important, it's a race of delegates. And right now the leaders in the delegate race is Obama and Romney.

I can't say I vouch for the source, but it seems that Clinton wasn't the only person who got a 'bump.'

Clinton and Obama are both corporatist whores. What's the difference?
