It is an interesting commentary though, trying to give the benefit of the doubt--I too have been guilty of late of popping up, then disappearing---(not to do that anymore, thanks MoGa for bringing Me to My senses!)--Mine has not been though that I have rushed into something after a few minutes--its been My own inner journey--however, I digress--

To address this in parts--there are just as many Dominants, male and female who are schmucks as there are submissives, male and female--I am sure by the comments She WAS indeed impressed---( take note boys, manners matter major)--and perhaps that along with whatever transpired over the long coffee, made Her scoop him up and choose to focus on him--we can only hope--yet I do see this mad tendency to collar as soon as new meat enters the arena, and the willingess to allow that to happen--then one or both parties are back in the arena--its truly sad that we seem to have lost patience?

Maybe its a good to be happy with the incredibly simple things.

Its funny, though, to see negative positives vault past positives. This reflects one's recent experience and psychology:

"he wasn't late" and "he wasn't ill-mannered"

differentiate the positive as an exception.

So, do we live in a world where two honored coffee dates amount to an exceptional occurrence?

Yes.

Sorry, but as both a domme and a photographer I end up making a lot of appointments with a lot of people who can never pull their act together. They cancel at the last minute, don't show up at all, show up late, vanish and then reappear a week later trying to re-schedule, show weird signs of being nervous about being seen in public, or screw up the first meeting...on MANY occasions!

I've also had people agree to a photo shoot, show up, and literally flee the scene without a word and never show up again, call again etc.! That one was pretty hilarious. Fortunately it wasn't me doing the shooting that day, or I would have been pretty annoyed. As it was, the photographer I was working with had a more reliable male model on site, so the guy wasn't missed...but yes, upshot is that making an appointment and having a man (or woman) politely keep it and make a positive first impression is the exception, on the internet. Not the rule.

True, but I believe in cloudboy's OP, there were TWO meetings!

We also don't know how long they emailed or IM'd and talked on the telephone before they actually met. The fact is, there's simply a lot we don't know and many assumptions that are being made.

Personally, I hope it works out for them.

It's clear they both enjoyed the coffee and conversation.

ehhh, I think spending time analysing and critiquing her approach to finding a boy is a bit of sour grapes - a waste of energy and not beneficial.
We all appear kinda nutty in the hopes and throws of romance.

In addition, there are various criteria we bring to anything we are judging or considering:
1. the deal breakers
2. the icing on the cake
3. all the gray area in between 1. and 2.

I have done a lot of management in my professional life thus hiring, reviewing and negotiating salaries, rasies and benefits with employees.

Early on I came to see that almost universally men negotiate for what they want and women negotiate for what they need. Kinda of shocking if you think about it. This phenomenon has actually been documented.

I think is says alot about how much farther we have to come in terms of women's rights and equallity. Sense of entitlement is very different between men and women.

As a femdom I find myself questioning the unintentional conditioning that I've been subject too often...in fact that has a lot to do with me being a femdom. But it is not always simple or easy to recondition.

Well which is more important, wants or needs? I find that I can do an awful lot for myself in both categories...

And YES, you would be amazed at how many utter cheapskates will not even pay for a cup of coffee. They are really a counterpoint to the ones who bring flowers...
