How or would your life change if your vanilla friends and family knew about your D/s relationship. If it was accepted by all of them, How would that change your life? if it would change it at all?

All of my friends know (at least any who are close enough to have visited me in my home). I don't know how much my family knows...we don't discuss anyone's sexual preferences over Christmas dinner. My life has not really changed much since I came out. It isn't like I throw it into every conversation I have. I do wear a belt with handcuffs on them when I go out dancing...that can start some interesting conversations. One thing that I have noticed is that people come to me for all things "adult". For instance, I was picked to set up the bachelor party for one of the guys on my soccer team. Taggard

we would still be who we are. we live our lives to please ourselves, nobody else. we do have to mind what we do around the young ones, but other than that, our lives are ours to do with as we see fit. PM

i would enjoy being able to sit at my Owner's feet and have him pet me and to be able to wear my collar (when i get one) all the time. That's how mine would change.

Personally, I'm neither out or 'in hiding' if someone were to say, Hey are you into bdsm?" I'd say yes and see where the conversation goes. However, I don't see myself sitting down to dinner with my Mother and saying, "Hey Mom, pass the potatoes and by the way, I thought you should know that in our relationship He makes all the decisions and we are into bdsm." Frankly, I wouldn't want to know that about her and I'm sure she doesn't want to know that about me. The relationship, it just that a relationship and it works for the people in it; no one else needs to know what happens within that relationship. Most relationships have one person 'in charge' , while many people talk things out, someone still has to make a decision; so why is it that the D/s has to be seen or shown as anything different? To answer the quesiton, I don't think it would change my life if everyone knew. I'm doing what makes me happy and I'll continue even in the face of disapproval because it's my life and I can only live it in a way that's best for me. There is too much I've already done that family and friends don't approve of, this would be no different. Although perhaps it would explain a few things to them. [:)] Saya

Personally, I don’t think it would change much. Besides what my family knows is im happy and that’s all they care about. My friends know what I tell them. I don’t worry about them with regards to my lifestyle. Now if my family found out that’s a whole different scenario and I would want to know how they found the information. Besides being the black sheep of the family I might not fall far from that tree. lol [;)] Ryu

OK when you mention that.... My mother sat on the floor in front of my father often, she liked her hair played with. Now that there are more people in my parents house for get togethers there isn't enough seating in the living room so my sister and I both tend to find a bit of floor, so I guess nothing would change. But since you've posted this my mental block is wondering HOW anyone would "find out" since it's not necessarily a secret, it's just not something that I talk about because I'm a prude like that.

Very little. I am by nature a fairly private person and have never discussed the more personal aspects of my life with anyone. Very few people even bother asking questions. The worst are the local redneck men. Them: "Who was that hot chick I saw in your yard the other day?" Me: "that was shannon" Them: "shes not from around here is she?" Me: "no, she is from british columbia and not into guys" Them: "bummer, she is fucking hot......" And that's about the extent of it.

Most of my friends already know. Heck, my yahoo 360 page has pics of me restrained, gagged, etc. and that page is there for anyone to see. i do not hide what i am. my friends can either accept me for who and what i am, or not. ~shrug~ As to family, i'm pretty sure my mom already suspects, but has no desire to ask me about it. So, i cannot say it would change my life in any way at all. i'm already an open book for the most part. i might not tell everyone the particulars of my kinks, but the fact that i live in what some consider an alternative lifestyle, why not. Would take too much effort to hide and pretend to be something other than what i am.

i see women with that all the time. It's a wonderful idea, thanks. My Owner already has a beautiful snow white (not DisneY) collar picked out for me. It is so feminine and i can't wait to wear it. Unfortunately there's no getting a way with the fact that it's a collar. Maybe one day he will get me a necklace for public time. that would be so incredidle.
