This form of fundraisers involve quite a bit of costs and legal issues...

Another forum I am a member of, also went into fundraising to help pay for website and server, eventually needing their own server to maintain stability and to prevent webpage stalling during heavy usage,   as they grew  in number of members,  the cost of operating was getting phenomenal,  what they ended up doing was opening a paypal account and the  members were free to donate how much they wanted.   Those that donated got a few site perks as a thank you examples such as larger email accounts or photo album which they could use to cross link to the forum, or could use photos in their signature and they get a reminder  in a years time that if they want to keep their perks  that another donation needed, the average donation was roughly  $5 per person per year so not alot and the site administrators would post announcement once in a while if cost overruns were occuring so newer members could be encouraged to donate.

It would be a good idea, but there are way too many factors to think about.

You would have to have a good cross section - submissives, dominants, switches, slaves, couples, countries.
Then, who is going to organise it?  Package it?  You have to have equivilents of model release forms.  Laws in different countries apply.
And then you have to make sure there isn't any favouritism - so only the 'cool' people get published.
And there is the risk factor for some people also who don't want to get outted.
Have these all been taken into consideration?
I am such a killjoy...[;)]

the.dark.

not a killjoy but somethinggs to consider.  I know it makes it more complicated, but I've been in a fundraiser where votes cost $1.00
So we get as many pictures as possible and people can vote at a minimul coat and the top 12 are published.  Of course you can add a benefit for voting ie if you vote over x amount of times you get a free calander.  It would to be A bit more then the cost of the calander but it adds a bit of money to the fundraiser if people are active and want their photos in a calender,

RCdc -> RE: CM Calendar Fundraiser? (1/10/2008 2:15:42 PM)

Somehow, I am a guessing the dominants(and quite a few s-types) might push to see Aileen in a summer popsicle shot.[;)]

There was a thread where a calendar of CM people was mentioned, I think it would make a cool fundraiser, beats looking at cheesy porn or fake personal ads?

What say ye CM masses?

Michael,
Sure - and here's some shots to start - pick whichever you'd like: http://www.flickr.com/search/people/?q=Merc_n_beth Put me down for $100 to defer the production costs. Just meeting you in person was worth that much and it never would have happened without CM.

Yosemite the next photo opp?

TallDarkAndWitty -> RE: CM Calendar Fundraiser? (1/10/2008 2:26:05 PM)

If there is anyone who is actually serious about this, I know a photographer who does this exact thing:

http://www.lulu.com/content/942197

(Yeah, that is me on the cover of the calendar.)

I am sure he would give me the scoop on what it takes to have that Lulu place publish and sell it.  As far as who got in goes, that seems pretty easy.  We would take submissions from anyone who wanted in and the CM masses would vote on it.  Best 12 make it in and the hightest votes goes on the cover.

yup! Sometimes I get to be in a few pics too!

Although I should tell you what our friend Beach Mystress said when she saw it. (My picture - although she's also seen my butt.) She wanted to braid my butt hairs together.

I told her; "Hey - I'm Sicilian/Italian - we have trouble growing hair on our heads but it doesn't seem to be a problem anywhere else!"

Aileen1968 -> RE: CM Calendar Fundraiser? (1/10/2008 2:44:09 PM)

Yeah....I can braid the hair on my Italian ass too.  Bwuahhahahaha

ExSteelAgain -> RE: CM Calendar Fundraiser? (1/10/2008 2:45:31 PM)

A calendar? Hey, man, this is 2008. Get with the program!” A while back I decided it was as important to see a good photograph as it was to shoot one. Some photography I don’t get just like some music I stay away from and don’t feel the need to get. The art of photography is not about making and exact 2 dimensional duplicate of what is in front of the camera. I’m not anti-photos or anything. I even like cat photos. I mean a great lens is nice, but a superb rendering is better. We need something beyond the calendar like  posting naked pictures every week…a different pose every week.

I would go in for the same, and for the same reason!

I actually have a pretty cool photo of Beth covered in candle wax while Elle stands above her.  Too bad it isn't high enough resolution...I bet it would make the cover!
