Has anyone here seen the commercials for Ashleymadison.com?

If you listen carefully, she's advertising a cheating website.

"If you're in a relationship, but you feel you need something more..."

The words discreet, sensual, etc also pass by the screen during commercials.

I think its ridiculous that these commercials which promote cheating on your significant other, are allowed to be put on T.V.

Hopefully this doesn't get more people going to the site.

It is exactly that, a site specifically for married folks.  Go figure!

Gotta love the tag line:
When monogamy becomes monotony.

As seen on Dr Phil?  He actually supports it?

kittiekatt -> RE: Ashley Madison (1/11/2008 1:00:41 PM)

No, I saw the Dr. phil show. Him, and all those people they talk about, talk trash about it.

The funny thing is, it gets them more air time, and they just get more members. There's no such thing as bad publicity I guess.

It just makes me so angry... so fucking angry. Imagining all those people cheating on their wives, and husbands.

BossyShoeBitch -> RE: Ashley Madison (1/11/2008 1:23:16 PM)

my ex husband has/had a profile there..

KatyLied -> RE: Ashley Madison (1/11/2008 1:25:33 PM)

Yeah, it's not a great site, ethics-wise.
But from a business standpoint it's meeting a need of the market.

kittiekatt -> RE: Ashley Madison (1/11/2008 1:31:55 PM)

Good he's an ex then. *Winks*

And Yeah, I guess you're right katy. It's just hard to stomach, even not being married.

xBullx -> RE: Ashley Madison (1/11/2008 1:32:56 PM)

I doubt the website is the problem...

we live in a society that will make money on anything, even the supposed indiscretions of another...

Perhaps the problem isn't the website...

divi -> RE: Ashley Madison (1/11/2008 1:40:38 PM)

Heya sweet kittie!   I'm sure that site is the reason for men cheating.  Heya Bull ~ Waves ~.

kittiekatt -> RE: Ashley Madison (1/11/2008 1:42:32 PM)

*Giggles* I guess You both are right. It's not the site, it's the people. BUT, nevertheless, the site DOES enable them, and encourages them, which is wrong.

Btw, I see that commercial over 10 times a day. It's on almost every commercial stoppage I see.

divi -> RE: Ashley Madison (1/11/2008 1:46:38 PM)

Must be on Canada tv.. never seen it.. sounded like a web site for home goods lol

Leatherist -> RE: Ashley Madison (1/11/2008 1:48:35 PM)

Bull is correct, the issue is the demand. Should be good for some laughs and giggles when thier records and logs start getting supeoned in divorce proceeedings tho. [;)]

kittiekatt -> RE: Ashley Madison (1/11/2008 1:54:52 PM)

I also bet that the FBI are all over this site looking for more predators as they do with myspace and other sites.

Cheating has been going on since man kind existed.  by both men and women...just you never hear when its the woman doing it(why is that?? hmmm)

kittiekatt -> RE: Ashley Madison (1/11/2008 2:53:42 PM)

Heh, god only knows. ^.^

This is the first I've had of it.

Frankly, I'm all for people finding happiness wherever they can find it.  I think people shouldn't cheat, but if they're going to, their spouses deserve a better partner anyway.

You don't fix a broken bridge by pretending it's not broken.  Better to accept the damage, and either work to repair it, or let it go.

Unless he's a Republican....

kittiekatt -> RE: Ashley Madison (1/11/2008 3:26:00 PM)

Agreed. I don't mind the fact that people want to explore. Poly, etc etc. I'm okay with that. It's the deceitful way the site goes about promoting it which I don't like. It's basically saying its okay to sneak around, and it's not.
