I, for one, would probably not write to someone whose profile stated they are looking for someone pretty. My fear would be that what I consider pretty would not be what you consider pretty. I would also be worried that looks were more important than other traits. And that is a definite negative in my eyes. Just a thought.

Having said that I don't have my profile set to filter anyone's emails out. I would rather know just who is writing me. I think I am better at figuring out who and what I want than some arbitrary set of factors that I can key into the computer.

sighs....I know I am failing in my quest to refrain from snarky replies....however.....

Maybe they are all deleting your messages as they don't want to distract you from your dear friend who lives in the pit?

What they said, plus, we don't appreciate being called 'mericans.  How would you like being called  ire lander?  You don't know whether they have seen your profile.  There is a way we can see profiles without anyone knowing we have.  As others have said, the "pretty word", too, is a turn off for many, when used to describe what you are looking for.  Have you tried revamping your profile &/or putting a more clean cut picture up?

For many of us here in the United States, it isn't that the rest of the world doesn't exist, it is more that we don't want to live in the rest of the world, so we feel it is useless to invest our time & energy in getting to know someone we have no intention of ever becoming involved with in real life or time.  Perhaps that fact is even written in someone's profile & you neglected to read it before you sent them an email
