LONDON - Twins who were separated at birth got married without realizing they were brother and sister, a lawmaker said, urging more information be provided on birth certificates for adopted children.

A court annulled the British couple's union after they discovered their true relationship, Lord David Alton said.

"Everyone has a right to knowledge about their lineage, genealogy and identity. And if they don't, then it will lead to cases of incest," Alton said during a telephone interview Friday.

Hollywood storyline here we come.

*Movie guy voice ahem*

“It was the story of love, two kindred spirits that met and hit it off with a dream of a bright future ahead of them. Then in one foul swoop darkness descends upon their lives and turned it upside down as they come to terms with a devastating family truth. A story about rebuilding lives, a story of hope and a fight for legal justice. Sally was Sammy in cinemas now featuring Tom Hanks as Simon and Tom Hanks as Sally and Sammy.”

If they are twins wouldnt they be able to look at themselves and say...hey you look a hell of alot like me!

Not as fraternal twins they wouldnt. My daughter went to school with fraternal twins, boy and girl and they looked nothing alike. Boy was short and red haired like his dad, daughter was tall and black haired like her mother. Fraternal twins of same sex look a lot alike, but different sex twins can look nothing alike.

Yeppers.. I dated a set of faternal twins in HS. The "Wright brothers" LOL  Chad and Travis

One was tall, with dark hair, the other short with blonde.

Whoo was that a crazy summer.

This kind of thing is what leads to the creation of Meatloafs[8|]

I would say this is a better case for not breaking siblings (especially twins) up at birth, than anything else.

I really....really don't like the idea of the government having our genetic information on file.  Considering all current and most former US military members have such genetic information recorded, I'd say I know what I'm talking about.
