hear of serial killers anymore??? people like the zodiac killer in california for instance was a huge thing back then...

Is this because they are stopped before their second kill due to what science now can do to catch these people?

Perhaps its because things like this are now hidden from the public???

And what about UFOs? You never hear about any sitings anymore...

Thanks to CSI, most serial killers are figuring out that leaving a "Calling Card" at the scene is a bad idea.

Murders are usually reported atleast every other day. However, a calling card or method of the murder has to be repeated atleast three to four times before cops and feds suggest a serial killer is envolved.

As for UFO's, the story just isn't selling very well anymore. To many people pass by the paper or change the channel when the topic is on UFO's.

I would be inclined to agree with FangsNfeet, whatever atrocity happens in the world, if the newspaper parasites recognise it as old news, they will not publish.

No doubt there are serial killers, and UFO's, but they may not be newsworthy anymore.

Or it could be , we are all hardened to those two subjects and know serial killers exist, and UFO's

Or, to be a bit off the wall here, the law enforcement authorities might just be keeping a lid on things for fear of political reprisal in that, no one will visit a place if there is a nutter on the loose and the authorities in that town,city, whatever fear for the lost revenue from tourism.

Hi faerytattoodgirl

It seems most of the serial killers today use malls and schools.

I can sure tell you a UFO story… I really, truly, honestly saw one… no bull for real… it was 40 years ago but I remember it like yesterday. Not swamp gas or little green men from too much to drink… Not secret military aircraft or city spotlights on a fog bank.

I think they just don't want to advertise. I know that is the case here in Nebraska.

Look what happens everytime someone shoots something up. Before you know it there are a rash of shootings. Monkey see, monkey do type of scenerio.

Seems to me the last serial killer I heard a lot about was Slavemaster or the two guys in Maryland who were shooting people in parking lots. The name escapes me at the moment...Malvo or something like that.

Although at the same time while working here with the sheriff's department we had a serial killer, the public was never notified.

There are plenty of them. There is this sk in Mexico that has murdered hundreds of women in some town.

I suspect that some of them are recruited by those three letter companies that are resident in the USA (another three letter company).

Most were Earth's and most of those are off planet. I do not think that there are many alien ones on Earth.

As for that Malvo murderer and his companion, they most likely were nuts that were activated by one of those three letter companies for political reasons. That is why they got the publicity.

they have arrested a man here in ga, for the murder of one lady on a hiking trail, and now he is being linked to many more murders and missing persons cases.......i think his name is gary hilton.....hes in his early 60's, and as one cop said, he didnt just get a taste for murder in his 60's.....

no tellin how many he has killed.......

One of my favorite subjects: serial killers

. I read everything I can get my hands on about many different ones. I'm not sure why we haven't heard of many lately. I think their activities continue as always. It probably just takes awhile for cases to be solved and linked together to determine that they are the work of a serial killer and then for their stories to be written about or reported on.

A book I am reading right now is very good. I must have missed it when it was first released in 2004. It's called "Serial Killers: The Method and Madness of Monsters" by Peter Vronsky. It actually has some killers in there I've never heard of and I'm always pleasantly surprised when I find a book like that. It's very interesting and readable and I recommend it................luci

was there not something about a man in bdsm who would take girls from web sites nad kill them... over 50+ noted? i think i saw a skid on this on dateline or cnn some time ago...like in 06 or something..

yep........hes been all over the news here.......her dog wandered into a local kroger....her parents included the dog in the funeral service.....she was dearly loved.

and hes suspected in the murder of an elderly couple up in nc, fla has a few cases theyre checking into.........

very scary man.......

a guy killed a gal on a popular trail her last year-snatched her off her bike.......they caught him because he sought medical help for the huge hunk she bit out of his penis......it doesnt bring her back, but i absolutely love she got him good in the fight.

Same guy. I watched a couple of the video segments from the link I posted above and it seems as if Hilton may have had some mental problems that had become apparent to people well before this kidnapping occurred. He used to hang out at a local park and harrass people, stare at the children, etc..........luci

oh yeah luci...they have a dashboard cam of a cherokee co officer who questioned him when he was reported for tresspassing on some local hunting property....his behavior was strange as heck to the cop, and he had one of those batons cops carry that you "fling" out to make it longer......but its legal to have one......

hes had lots of contact with law enforcement recently it seems......too bad they couldnt lock him up for something dang it

it was the first thing i thought of when i saw this thread. And UFOs aren't posted anymore because a lot of videos are hoaxes, and easily proved that they are hoaxes, and no one believes eye witnesses (which is probably more reliable).
And media is a business sadly, if they don't keep the ratings up there is no more news station. So in actuality it is up to the people to determine what they want to know and that's what the media will produce. And the introduction of 24 hours news is a reason why less newsworthy stories are on the air because of the demand.
(ok i'm done with my media isn't that bad rant)
