Thats odd, I didnt have any issues at all with City of VIllians/Heroes? are you running 32 bit or 64 bit? (Damn my tech side is creeping up again) The solution may just be to buy a new copy of it, one that has more of the patches already on (pretty sure they included a patch with the command to run in XP mode)

Cameras, scanners and most of all Printers are the biggest problems Vista has. There aree actually certain printers that will, when installed corrupt the OS kernal for Vista, making it so you have to wipe the system. its ugly. (The brand of those ones seems to only be Lexmark, BTW)

Can you use any of the "Higher functions" i.e. change options so it prints B&W, or change Font types? If you cant then the driver is boned and needs to be replaced, you should be able to grab a good one from HPs site. I think it's

Unless it's for commercial use, ( In which case it's expensed on the books ) I don't see any reason to pay Microsoft License Fees.

There's Open Source software, like Ubuntu, Fedora, Firefox, OpenOffice, etc, PLUS the whole "Google Apps" suite ( which *should* get most people through college, excepting specialized s/w, ( Once again, commercial use... )

Now, people inevitably say that GIMP sucks, and isn't Photoshop. But I wonder how many of those people are using Photoshop at home? I can't see Joe User kicking up the coin for a license, and the CS version doesn't have the bells-and-whistles GIMP is criticized about either...

You mean as opposed to the millions of pieces of software that are rip-offs of someone else's? All a company does is copy, then try to improve. Doesnt matter who they are.

Good olé Bill.
Make every one love your other systems by making an even bigger piece of shit...

He doesn't have an excuse any more does he?...
Every one could have told him that they were having OS issues with 3D graphics running on windows, theirs a natural defect that runs to much boot information, and bogs down the processor some how.
So what does the idiot do?
He makes a 3D load screen...

M.F.I stupid M.F.I...

Honestly i,m just going to go buy a mac, and just forget this retarded crap.

You are all totally depressing me. My PC crashed recently and I had to order a new one with Vista Home Premium Edition. It is not here yet and I am in panic mode after hearing all this as I am NOT a techie.

Perhaps I should be narrowing my search for a Dom to a HiTech Master?

this is exactly why i don't want to replace my 5 year old HP.    i'm comfy with it and i'm definitely not a genius with computer programs and issues.  i'm sure i'll be forced eventually to upgrade, but it will be under great duress.

its not bad if you just surf but most everything else is out, Im sure there are upgrades but Im not willing to spend money on them free ones are ok but I dont like the idea of down loading stuff and then everything comes crashing down and spending hours on the phone or fixing it.

I have Vista running on 6 machines, XP on 2.

The 6 run flawlessly...the other 2...not so.
