What I don't like about Vista is when the world goes dark because I want to change something in control panel and it asks me if I'm changing something in control panel or not, pointless half of those questions are.

I got blue screen the other day though which I'm proud off. It said it was suspending my PC to protect it from damages. I thought that is rather nice of it, a bit like when they put a patient in one of those comas to stop them trying to use Word in case the one button technology annoys them to the point their head explodes.

There are some nice features on Vista however that I have previously mentioned. i.e.

File sorting in explorer
Predictive search (someone told me this was already on XP but I have XP and couldn’t find it so if it was it is well hidden)
Multiple clocks for different time zones
Clearer process listing in task manager (so I can spot what shouldn’t be there more easily)
The ability to size thumbnails in explorer as you wish with the slide thing; continuous variation rather than set size groupings.
Windows update without having to download ActiveX controls from a dodgy website

Has anyone noticed that Vista puts a nasty yellow tint on images you view?

Raechard - thank you for making me smile. Which I have not been doing much of since trying to get my Vista compatible webcam to work with, errrrr - Vista.  And not to brag, but I achieved a BSOD myself yesterday.

Raechard, ...in the settings for the viewer, is there a setting for colour management?( I wont touch vista until they force me) , but just wondering as they added that to the pic  editor I use (Thumbsplus) and you have to manually turn it off to get the reg tints.
As for file managers/explorers, Ive not used the windows search since 98, I use a prog called Powerdesk, as a file manager, it kicks ass for everything I want to do, it has a file viewer that reads most popular files. Just a thought :)
My computer ceased to be,  back in november, what a freakin nightmare, and ended up getting a barebones kit and used my XP, I realllllly  disliked the fact that you have to upgrade to new everything just to use the freakin OS.  I dont have the budget to buy high end, or mac. linux becomes interesting, but I have to say , my XP has given me years of computing  pleasure, but thats just my experience.

color management has an own section now in the control panel. Very detailed, i think you can even set a profile for movies, one for pictures, etc.

No I did look and on control panel it's the 'Windows Photo Gallery' viewer. I just noticed that when I use paint shop pro the white balance is correct but on the free viewer it isn't.

I've only had this computer for 3 days so I'm just starting to get used to it.
Lots of "tabs" up on the toolbar.
