Ok, I think myself of a seperate belief than that which I was 'Christened', and am very happy with that, but recently I was told if I had been christened as something , one of the religous sects, then I am that despite what I call myself.

I was also told I would have to apply to whoever or whatever to remove myself from the list of that religion, or forever be what I was christened as.

Christening as an act I do like, because I fail to see how a child can have 'original sin'.My parents did it as a matter of course, it was the done thing, but had I be given a choice knowing my feelings on the matter, that answer would be no way.

So, I ask here, if I were christened something or other, do I have to apply to wherever to remove myself from their list?

You dont have to "remove" yourself from a church or religion for no reason. But if you are officially a "member" of a church and you wish to join another, you need to "remove' myself in writing.

I had to write and get written permission to leave the methodist church where I was a "member" from age 12,.. thanks to some sort of first communion ceremony I trained for. I then had to give the letter to the presbyterian church, who then officailly recognized me as a member. So now Im a presbyterian if ever anyone should ask. lol Like it makes a difference. Not. lol

They call it generational sin. Familial "traits" such as alcoholism, adultery, etc. can be considered generational sin.
As for christening, I was christened Lutheran as an infant, and when I became more aware of my own path, I began to think that christening infants is a "show" parents do to make themselves feel better, and also because it's what they think they are "supposed to do". As an adult, I was immersed at a Southern Baptist church, even though I don't identify myself as Southern Baptist or a Lutheran.

When I pray I pray to God, not to the Catholic Church which I was Christened in.
If I wanted to go to a different church I'm sure there are a number of them that would welcome me without "paperwork."
Lots of them even advertise on tv in this country seeking new members.
I don't see any problem with being a member of more than one church if that's what you want.
Of course the only people who have a problem with that is the Catholic Church.

My parents didn’t get me Christened because you had to be regular church goers at the time and to be regular church goers you had to regularly donate money to the vicar so he could keep his car under two years old. You thinking I’m bull shitting you but I’m serious.
