That is not a flip answer either.

I would probably set up a charity that would give it out to needy Churches, Synagogues and other Faith based programs.

Then I'd by a Jag and a Boat in that order.

The first thing I'd do is find out what the rules are for this sort of thing. I'd very carefully read over all of the wording. Then I'd give it some thought. Then I'd go to a finacial planner and get some guidance. or maybe I'd take out a safe deposit box first and write a will so everyone could find it in case I die or something. lol

Cuz no way no how am I running to the state to cash it in till Ive got it figured out. I think you get a year. Shouldnt take me that long. But it might take 8 weeks what with how slow it is to meet with people. lolol Yup. I dont want to be those people that do a bad job with the winnings. I might even not tell any member of my family until Im darn well ready. Nobody would leave me alone or give me a minutes piece.

Assuming the amount was large enough....(and in this order):

Pay off all my real estate debt
Pay off my Mom's real estate debt
Pay off all my ex girlfriends houses (just because they're wonderful people)
Give a reasonable amount to various causes
Buy some more real estate

(Edited to add:  I'd also get a $50,000.00 prepaid Visa card in someone else's name so I could use it to sign up for every single bit of internet porn I ever was curious about so if any of it ever turned to be illegal in my state I could just tell the cops "yeah...he's a real sick fucker ain't he...he's had a key to my place for years...he and his wife haven't gotten along well since I've known him").

hmm.  see what the after-taxes winnings are.  speak with a financial adviser to get retirement plans set up.  buy a reliable working car (not one of those pretty mercedes sportscars like i drove last weekend) for me and something nice for wolf.  set aside money for the kids.

buy a house.  and a pink laptop for myself, with the programs *i* want on it LOL.  and a not-pink one for wolf.  and get rid of the 50 inch tv we have and get one that he wants.

set most of it aside for the future, and invest it wisely.  i know wolf, he'd still work.  oh and have the finances to go travel a bit, see Daddy more often, and maybe buy a new toy or two.

I'd change my shat-filled pants.

Then.....I'd spend the rest of my life helping people. I'd have a nice collection of muscle cars.

First, clear the debts, for there is no one richer than a debtless man.

Second, sort the family and close friends out.

third, get myself a forge, so I can play,

somewhere along the line depending on how much money was involved , buy land, and build affordable homes to rent out for less wealthy people, Appartments for singles and couples, something with a garden for those with children.

Simple rules, if people cannot respect their property or surroundings, then it is a case of 'next', there will always be someone who needs a place to live.

Profits made, for there will be, after running costs and expenses taken out, the money used to build more properties.

Maybe the big house development corporations can see no use in building affordable homes due to profit, but I can, people and their happiness is more interest to me than profit.

Me, I have no desire for the trappings of wealth, I would just want a place in the country, an old house, with space to play.

Pay off any outstanding debts, reserve enough for the year's normal expenses (in my case, college), then invest the rest so that, by the time I'll touch it, I'd have had a while to think about it and come to an educated conclusion.

Pay off my house then sell it for recoop my money back, then Id buy some property and build me a nice house with a swimming pool up in the mountains. Put my daughter through college, make some investments, take a few nice vacations, make sure my parents are taken care of.

I have no debts other than ones I want to have.  For tax purposes.  So, I wouldn't pay off anything that I haven't paid off already.

I'd try to find a full proof investment for the money.  Seems to be getting harder to find in this country.  So I may invest outside of the country.

I've heard some investment firm downtown here who is getting 20% return...I'm checking them out this week.

Mmmh do crazy things with the people I like until I've got nothing left. The big difference is that it won't be as fast as usual :-).
Ok ...I should invest a part of it too maybe...So boring to get older.
