I'm sure this has been asked, and I'm sure I have a pretty good idea, but I am going to ask anyway cuz it's 3 am on a suday morning and I'm bored.  What is the point of adding someone to your favorites list if you have no reason, or intention to contact the person/persons on the profiles?  :)

Perhaps you want to keep tabs on posts they make to the forums, read their journal entries, perv their pics, buck up the courage to actually contact them one day. Could be lots of reasons.

I don't know, but it's kind of cool to have people invite you, like getting valentines as a kid!

I find there to be no reason at all for that. It reminds me of when 16 year old girls add me on myspace just to have more friends.

yes agree with that. You see numbers over 600 "friends"
Sadly many really think those are friends.

Some people though write nice poems or note down interesting views and thoughts. It is nice to keep an eye on them, but I think you should message them the reason why you add them.

Helps me remember names so I can check on their posts. Also, sometimes I add people because I'm working up the courage to e-mail them or because I just like the way they come across. I don't really see it as a big deal.

Maybe they want to book mark you. Maybe it's a way of keeping track of your profile, your posts your pictures and when you have been on. Maybe they thought you were cool, or maybe they want to stalk you. Who knows. only way you'll ever know someone's reasoning is to ask them theirself.

It would be nice to be able to delete the "admirers" who, after a year, have never contacted.  But then i just dislike clutter.

I don't know.  I've never added a single person to my favorites list.
If they are someone I want to talk to I generally do.
As for the friends function I've gotten a few requests...I assume it is the same as the favorites function?
I don't pay that much attention, I'm not here for a popularity contest.  I'm here to learn about the lifestyle.

I used to have three people on my favourites list, but recently I had cause to add a couple of dozen. A few asked why and I told them.

I guess I can see other reasons, but for instance..one person...a male dominant..added us to his favs, I immediatly sent a message to ask why, and it was blocked. Which again begs the question ... what's the point?

Just saying they like your profile,or maybe hoping for a correspondence.

Ya` never know.

Keeping tabs, makes sense.I imagine that profiles w/ pix of pretty girls, get quite a few "admires", bookmarking them.

Yep.

I add people like book marks maybe I don’t finish reading a profile so I can read it later. I could probably keep track in other ways but it’s a simple click method I use. Most of the time I never get around to continuing to read though so I have loads of unread people still. Come to think of it I can’t remember the last time I looked at my favourites list. I suppose if you make someone a favourite you come up on the other end as an admirer. It is only really curiosity mostly.

Because (and I have this on very good authority)....at the end of 2008, the one with the most "admirers" will be given $10,000.00 and a trip for 2 to Disneyland.

How, in this instance, could he be hoping for correspondence if he blocked messages before any was attempted?

As Bitatruble said, journal entries, forum posts, and courage to maybe email someday. Many of the Dominants reveal much knowledge, and I have learned tons reading the forums.

Sometimes pics are just really hot and sexy. The pics is all they want to look at. Other times, people just want to ready your journal and profile. Something about it might help in stimulating them mood wise.

Adding someone to your favoriates is more like book marking them. It's something about them or there profile that you like. It can also be an informal way of saying hello.
