Good Evening and hello to all members!!

I have been wondering are their any Masters who are also Energy aware and work with the Chakras??  If so do you you use BDSM tools (flogger etc) as a means of Spiritual Connection and Growth or is BDSM simply for play/entertainment/sexual purposes?

Where I can find those who accept M/s as a very spiritual practice few seem to be energy aware and how a flogger can be used for that purpose....someone out there must understand how the two go together....or I hope.

thank you for taking the time to read my post and I look forward to reading your responses.

~M

Not a Master but a sub here.  And yes to all of the above from this side of the coin.  I find heavy play to be quite uplifting as well as soothing to my spirit.  It can balance my chakras for me and subspace will sometimes take me on a very nice journey.  I also use Reiki with my man which, coupled with his own spiritual awakenings lately, comes back tenfold.  Reiki also makes a really nice cleansing, harmonizing force for a play space and can make public play parties more enjoyable.

Dear M.-

Funny, but I've sort of assumed that anyone who had gotten as far as SM had, at somepoint, dabbled in Tantra before moving on to SM, but as I consider it, I suppose that's not often the case. Still, I'd consider an awareness of the simple cause and effect of the physical aspect of WIIWD to be pretty common.

I have used energy work, and Reiki for a number of years in combination of my BDSM interests and lifestyle.

The Reiki, I feel, is essential in aftercare and other things too.

My Master and I do a lot of energy transferring, although I couldn't tell you what "brand" of it we do.  We started experimenting and found it rather incredible so kept going.  I have done some reading on Chakras but have we have not incorporated my learnings at this time.  Most of the energy transferring has been done with the mind, and I have found my body responding in some amazing ways.

I wouldn't say we dabble in spirituality this way, but we connect through these energy channels and actually vibrate sometimes.  I would imagine any tool can be used - a hand, a flogger, a belt - you're simply using a mechanism to carry energy from one source to another.

The following books may be of interest to you:

"The Sexual Teachings of the Jade Dragon" by Hsi Lai

"Ecstasy Through Tantra" by Dr. Jonn Mumford

"Taoist Secrets of Love Cultivating Male Sexual Energy" by Mantak Chia and Michael Winn

Enjoy your discoveries!  It really is quite remarkable.

ahhh it is good to see that others do use Energy Work and Reiki with their scenes!

I have found there are times after a scene that I am edgy, emotional, feeling empty and I have asked for a flogger to help balance chakras, it is very hard to get that concept accross to someone who is unfamiliar with them.  I usually am looking for a walking up the back lightly with the flogger and then a gentle down stroke....mmmmm just thinking about it makes me feel all cozy lol.

The Energy work afterwards is definaly very nice for both Master and slave at least once one is back down on earth :-)

Evening Lawrence,

I never did more than do some light reading with Tantric and until recently I had considered M/s, BDSM etc not compatible with Spirituality, Energy Work, Reiki etc.  Its been thru some reading on the net and a book I have that I see how they are all combined. Now its just a matter of finding a Master who understands this as well. Everyone's posts here have been encourging.

btw Nice Leathers ;)

I didn't realize people were still only calling it energy and limiting themselves to thinking in terms of chakras.  I myself have moved far beyond those meager beginnings and at times find it lonely being so advanced and amazing.

Last time I felt this advanced and amazing I was a teenager who thought I had discovered everything for the first time.

wow, I am amazed.  I meditate and practice Yoga, recently started learning about Chakra's and focusing some of my meditations on them.  Never thought that there was so much interest in the lifestyle or that it could be used.

thank you for your reply Michael, I was using some broad general terms for the sake of a post here, I would be interested in hearing your further thoughts on the subject though.

there was a post i made back in October about being a foot rest concerning chakras and energy looping here - http://www.collarchat.com/m_1356085/mpage_1/tm.htm

i also attended a workshop in November about releasing negative energy through needle play...i was not real fond of the worksop...ok, i hated it...the person giving the workshop did not channel the negative energy that was released well enough, and then when i told her that she did not, she told me it was psychosomatic...i wasn't even aware of what was going on...the first half was old hat and i walked back in on her putting the first needle in and got blasted with the bottom's negative energy that was released and was phsycially ill from it...so...i'm sure it can be done in a positive manner...but the way it was done that i saw it, it was negative for everyone witnessing it that was vulnerable to energy...i checked around...

anyway...within a relationship, not just the physical aspects...i, personally, would not be in a relationship if there was not an energy flow...but that is just me...not sure about anyone else...perhaps i am just aware of what it is...perhaps i just have a name for that "it feels right"...other than "it feels right"....

take care
chelle

chelle,

My cousin is a massage therapist and was telling me about some of her training.  There was an entire session on energy during massage, and how the therapist needs to keep her own mind clear and free of negative energy, since she could transfer hers onto her client, which would not be good!  She also learned not to inadvertantly receive her client's energy or give too much of her own away, as that would wear her down over time.  I found it really interesting.

Re: needle play, I recently had an accupuncture treatment in which I felt totally overwhelmed and high from it.  It was so bizarre.  I felt so much energy rushing out of my body that I thought I might impode, and the accupuncturist had to assure me all was fine, although she was really excited to see it.  So it's no wonder to me that needle play would give people a rush, in fact, now I want to learn more about it, and where various energy channels are used in accupuncture so we don't do something harmful as a result.

Interesting stuff.

I have never done this. It sounds like my Master and I are well suited for it. Our raw connection is unbelievably strong, and evident. I would love to see what we could do with this.

Geee some of you have been reading my mind as I was also wondering about the effects on the body's meridians and energy systems when doing needleplay or for that matter clothespins.  I so often see folks just haphazardly applying these things all over the body without a 2nd thought as their potential effects.  When I see people doing clothespins on the ears, fingers or toes I have to walk away.

A big thank you to those of you were willing to share your experiences as well as thos of you who asked further questions. It is nice to engage in a diaglogue with like-minded individuals.

Neither needles or clothespins are going to have any effect on meridians or acupuncture points.  This is common misconception among people who have no real training in that area.

Attually needle and clothespins probably could. If Reiki can work without touching and sometimes through distance, then pinching and proding will too. You could put a massage therapest out of business by saying it doesn't. lol

Energy is in everything. Universal energy like reiki though should only be done with good intent. If that means pins and needles yeppie.

MamaDomme,

Thanks!  The "I am more enlightended than you are" crowd is what kept me away from new age stuff for years.  Sad really because it has so much to offer!
